A Castle Full of Rascals — April Fools

With the UK Government seemingly in deadlock regarding Brexit after decades of Lazy reporting by British newspapers about the validity of curvy Bananas we at THS face a bit of a problem. As an international team with only a couple of folks in the UK and our servers safely residing in Germany the service levels for the rest of the world will continue as normal. Sadly for those in the UK the ‘Communications Received and Promoted Per Electronic Recognition’ act has the likely effect of delaying or blocking entirely our humble little site for those in the UK.
While we wait for the Fools to sort it out we can only apologise for any Contact Lost.

We in the north of Germany happily welcome any Brits who apply for a German passport. We even have cafes serving cream tea. 😀

I didn’t know The Highway Star was part of Project Fear. Sadly, here in the UK, we have useless parliament who have refused to enact the decision taken by the majority of those who voted to leave the EU. Some of us believe in the sovereignty of nation states and disagree with decisions about our taxes, our economy, our agricultural industry and our fisheries being taken by the unelected and unaccountable creatures of Berlaymont. Shocking, eh?

Unelected? Sometimes I feel like screaming.
Good luck in the forthcoming EU elections…

Ah, Silas….. Listen, Learn, Read On……. Barnier – unelected and unaccountable to any European citizen. Tusk – the same. Selmayr – the same. Every single EU Commissioner – the same. Like many who voted for Brexit, I love Europe (the continent) and enjoy meeting and making friends with my European neighbours. However, who collects my taxes and who spends my money is even more important. If I don’t like my MP I, along with other like-minded citizens, can vote him or her out of office. I cannot do that to the likes of Barnier, Tusk, Selmayr and the EU Commissioners, all of whom have a massive sway over my life. We will have to agree to disagree, like civilised people. PS if you can name your MEP (without the use of Google) who “represents” you in the absurd, expensive, pointless rubber stamp “European Parliament” then I will not type another syllable.

Alyn Smith, thanks for asking. Actually I have 6, but one certainly doesn’t represent me.
You should maybe try Google, you’d find out the electoral history of all those people….as for accountability, lets ask the 400,000 UK civil servants? Or the 826 Lords and Ladies….

Mark B – Oh please, our sovereignty isn’t in danger. The UK has over 34,000 laws and just over 4,000 are influenced by the EU, and there are only 72 that the UK didn’t vote for. The problem with the fishing quotas doesn’t lie with the EU, it is a reult of Thatcher and successive governments selling off huge chunks of the qotas, so that the wealthy businessmen fish on an industrial scale, while our own fishermen have to make do with what is left. The most recent fisheries bill states that our government will not be redistributing fishing quotas when we leave the EU. As for taxation, doesn’t it make you wonder that people like Jacob Rees Smug, whose own company doesn’t pay any corporation tax due to loopholes, is so keen on leaving when the EU has said it intends to stop such practices? Don’t even get me started on tge lies and proven illegality of the Leave campaign. It’s not so much Project Fear as it is Project Bulls**t! Now can we get back to talking about our favourite band? And please THS, put this up, if Mark is allowed some political opinions then it’s only fair that I be allowed to offer a rebuttal. Many thanks, and let’s stop anymore politics, I’m sure we’ve all had enough of it of late. Deep Purple forever!
