Machine Head on clear vinyl

In case you don’t have enough copies of Machine Head in your collection, it will be released on clear vinyl by Rhino on October 4 this year. This odd release will be opening their Rocktober campaign, that will feature a round of vinyl releases from their back catalogue every Tuesday in October. This release will only be available in “participating brick and mortar retail outlets” in the US and is said to be limited to 2,500 copies with MSRP of $21.98.

In related family tree news, Heaven & Hell’s The Devil You Know will see a similar 2LP release “on dark orange & gold colored vinyl with etching on side 4 and band poster”. It is due on October 25.

Thanks to BraveWords for the info.

Magnificent Album will two musicians ever again reach the heights of Blackmore and Lord’s interplay. 1982 I brought the album, I was 17 had no money un thought my speakers were going to blow up. Mr Lord’s Lazy intro full tilt. Blackmore moves in like a sniper, I barley survived. What a day.

    Thank you.

I just came across a brand new double disk 2016 release of MH Remastered CD. A local Record/Video/Book store called Hastings is going out of business and is reducing prices for clearance. I stopped in for a look-see. I got it for 9 bucks. Great packaging. Has 2 disks. Disk One is The original 2012 Remaster along with “When a Blind Man Cries”. Disk Two is the “Quad SQ” Remaster along with singles (SOTW US-edit) and (LAZY Japanese B-side- edit). Great packaging. Gatefold with booklet story by Roger Glover of the MH Recording history. The Disks are in the old Green Warner Bros. Records label style. Very cool package.

As for the clear vinyl…. no thanks. Got various original vinyl copies. Jap, British and Colored copies already.

The new album will be out sometime next year. Don Airey was just caught heavily hinting at a farewell tour but hoping it’s not.

RE: #6 Tracy, Can you cut loose with a little info on that new 2016 release? Who put it out, Domestic US or Import, Catalogue #, etc. I just looked on Amazon U.S. and don’t see anything. It sounds like I may want to get it if I can find it, even if it costs upwards of $10.

    RE: #’s 6 and 11.

Tracy, Never Mind. Amazon does have it ($16) but it just says 40th Anniversary and one has to drill down to see that it is a 2016 release (technically the 44th Anniversary edition?).
