The Dreaded Lurgy took the first bite out of Deep Purple’s touring schedule — the opening night of the tour in Moscow on May 31 has been cancelled. Refund for the tickets will be available between May 1 and June 30 at the point of purchase. VIP upgrade ticket holders will be contacted directly.

[updated] At the yesterday (March 14) show in Mexico, Deep Purple performed with Jordan Rudess on the keyboards. Don Airey could not make it to the gig “for reasons that have not been disclosed”. This leaves a lot of questions unanswered, but it’s not the time to panic.

[Updated] The press release went down the wire today confirming release date for the new Deep Purple album Whoosh! as June 12. There is also a new website to promote the album and 30 second previews of each song at Google Play.
