Maybe it’s rehearsal take #75, but the guys look BORED.

I love watching these senior citizens at work! : – ) It’s good to be useful even at old age.

Sounds better โ€œliveโ€ and more rock

Still it doesn’t sound like a strong album opener

And you tell me the guy can’t play a solo! Sometimes, in his phrasing, I hear even a little bit of Tommy Bolin in Steve.

Cool. I like this kind of stuff. Kinda wish more people did what they did with the Gillan’s Inn release that was a DualDisc with 2 sides, SC/DVD, and put this kind of stuff on it.

Can’t help but think that we may only have video going forward so it makes me very grateful that I saw them on the Theater Tour last year at the Fox in Riverside, CA.

    Thorsun says:

Steve’s solo sounds looser, nicer, more relaxed – less “widdly-waddly” – as compared to what has landed on the finished take on the record. Another proof that sometimes the less is so much more. I still have reservations regarding these strings running through the track, although it’s a joy to see how effortlessly Don is playing them. Wish I had his skills! ๐Ÿ˜‰
