Very, very close
Good news, everybody! It was rumoured that the band is working on a new album, and the rumours have now been confirmed by the Rolling Stone Brazil magazine (usual caveats about reverse translation apply). The publication is dated May 7, 2025.
The two Ians — Gillan and Paice, bassist Roger Glover, keyboardist Don Airey, and guitar player Simon McBride spoke to Rolling Stone Brazil directly from Nashville, the city in the United States where they are working on what should become a new album, their 24th studio album and the successor to =1 (2024), which was highly praised for bringing back a heavier sound.
Regarding the album, they were rightly dismissive, as the conception process is still in its early stages. Paice, responsible for most of the group’s responses, comments:
“We’re not recording yet, but we’re very, very close. We’re picking and choosing the best songs we’ve come up with. Right now, we’re here in Nashville with Bob Ezrin [producer], and we’ll probably go into the studio in 10 or 12 days or something. Then we’ll see what happens. If it’s good, you’ll hear it. If it’s not, you’ll never hear it.”
The interview concluded with a round of questions for each of the band members on their non-DP projects. Gillan was asked about the Born Again remixes, Glover — about Butterfly Ball, Airey — about Pushed to the Edge, McBride — about Recordings 2020-2025, and Paice — about parting ways with Whitesnake in 1982.
You can read the whole thing in Portuguese as published, or translate into your preferred language.
Thanks to Blabbermouth for the heads-up.
Bob Ezrin has moved from the US back to his native Canada because he wanted less orange and fake blond in his life, giving up his US citizenship in the process,
https://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/bob-ezrin-renounces-us-citizenship-returns-canada-1235912662/
and Canada is where =1 was recorded too, why all of the sudden then back to Nashville? Just wondering, I’m happy to see them in the studio anywhere.
That interview is great, as a matter of fact all Brazilian interviews always are, really empathetic and people ask thoughtful questions, it must be something in the water of the Amazon River me thinks.

Roger Glover’s quip at the end “Until now!” is masterful. 😂
May 21st, 2025 at 20:43Is anyone going to stop these people??!!
May 21st, 2025 at 21:00Someone’s got to tell’em!

May 21st, 2025 at 22:22You know who would have detained Erzin at the border, probed him both mentally and physically, questioned him as to what benefit his visit to the USA would bring to the economy, hoping tariffs can also be applied of course. And after all that gave Ezrin a time permit, ‘how long are you here for and can you please get the f..k out of our country as soon as possible’. Otherwise a merry time could be had by all. What about those Brits though. I cannot imagine Gillan putting up with all that for too long. Such a rebel and anarchist dare I might say. They probably just said they knew Ritchie and as he is a US citizen we presume, all was ok. Cheers.
May 21st, 2025 at 23:34@ 2- Yes, Father Time.
May 21st, 2025 at 23:38Talking of Black Sabbath’s ‘Born Again’ album and Tony Iommi has (I cannot believe it) contributed to the joker Robbie Williams new album on one song. Spoiler alert, it is bad, sorry to have to place this here but you know how music is these days, well some of it. Plus there are probably a few Williams aficionados here, who can tell. I wonder what ole Jimmy Page thinks? Isn’t he having problems with Williams trying to build a swimming pool underneath his house right next door to Page’s Heritage listed house. Celebrities eh, you just cannot trust them. They are a bit like the plague. I cannot believe I clicked on that link, but as we all are aware, curiosity can kill a cat at times. Iommi, what are you doing, times must be tough for him these days. He probably got paid for it though, hopefully a truckload of cash so he can attend some sort of counselling clinic. Cheers.

May 21st, 2025 at 23:54I would love to hear both: the very good and the not good stuff 😊
May 22nd, 2025 at 06:20Great picture of the guys, looking very young for age and healthy. 😁
May 22nd, 2025 at 12:17I think the Robbie Williams track is a friggin’ riot, LOVELY!
https://youtu.be/8_sn6kXYjR8
I was never a Williams fan, but he has undeniable pop talent.
Don’t hear much of Glenn though until way back at the end. The Iommi solos in the punkish number are hilarious though. Really enjoyed it.
May 22nd, 2025 at 12:57Cant wait to see what the boys will be up to this time.. I might be one of a few who wasnt that impressed with = 1
May 22nd, 2025 at 15:05Uwe, where do you hear Glenn, to be precise?
May 22nd, 2025 at 17:34Very faintly, Daniel, in the coda at the end (@02:30) doing four times
“Be, be, be your rocket
Be, be, be your rocket
Be, be, be your rocket
Be, be, be your rocket”,
I might also be imagining him in the chorus mixed way back, but it’s hard to discern. But the coda is him, that’s his vibrato, it kind of echoes how Billie Ray Cyrus used him (although way more audibly) in the coda for this here (KARIN, DON’T EAT FROM THAT TREE!***):

*** I betcha that woman won’t listen and she’ll lurk. Last time that happened, it got us men in all kinds of lasting predicaments with the Boss.
May 22nd, 2025 at 21:17@12
As usual I’m sitting here, with my cup of coffee, and my head in a spin because I really don’t know what you’re talking about 😯
What tree?
What predicaments?
What Boss? (Ooohhhhhhh the butter-tenor!)
Hey come on now!
May 23rd, 2025 at 05:27I have admitted to really like DC’s voice (even have a lot of his tunes on my playlist, and I really enjoy it 😊)
When do I ever lurk?
And I always listen! – just you ask my sweetheart! 😍
Why go through the effort of enlisting Glenn’s services if it’s not possible to detect his vocals? Very strange. Do you plan on seeing BCC in Germany?
May 23rd, 2025 at 05:32Why rumored? Actually you guys were been little slow with the news.
1. McBride posted a picture from Nashville on his social pages, weeks ago.
2. The band dud a video interview from something as recording room few days ago.
3. The band attended to Metallica concert, Nashville again. The meeting was hugely covered by many musicians. Also Metalica did partially Sotw on that particular gig.
The question is What are doing the boys in Nashville since 2012?!
Best!
May 23rd, 2025 at 11:20@10
May 23rd, 2025 at 12:09I rather agree. More of a producer album in terms of originality. But one of the best works of both Ians and Roger since ages. Rhythm section is massive and vocals sublime.
aie…aie….aie….qu’est-ce que ca va être une reprise des standards re-réenregistrés???? un quatrième machine head???
May 23rd, 2025 at 17:55Daniel, I dunno why they mixed Glenn down like that, perhaps this info is helpful, it’s from someone I’m friends with who knows Glenn Hughes’ manager:
QUOTE
His manager told me:
“Glenn initially sang a lead line with Robbie and the chorus.. seems to have been lost/ buried in the mix … but what can ya do?
They had 8 different people mix it … they couldn’t get satisfied.
The demo was more alive.”
UNQUOTE
That sounds like the overproduction effort that would go into a Robbie Williams album, he’s always been more convincing live. Maybe we’ll see a remix one day.
Sure, I will be seeing BCC (it will only be the second time for me), I have a ticket for Cologne!

Head-in-a-spin Karin @13: I was just trying to protect you from inadvertently opening a link to a vid with Billy Ray Cyrus as an Elvis-impersonator!
As regards your puzzlement (which once again indicates how Christianity of any substance never really took hold in Denmark), I’ll let you see the light 🕯️ in [ ] brackets …
What tree? [The one in a mythical place called “The Garden of Eden“ with the apples 🍎 🍏 and the serpent 🐍 …]
What predicaments? [Legend has it that the dude who owned the place ousted Adam for the reckless curiosity of his female companion with the scathing comments: “Cursed is the ground because of you! In toil you shall eat its yield all the days of your life. Thorns and thistles it shall bear for you, and you shall eat the grass of the field. By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread,
until you return to the ground, from which you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”]
What Boss? (Ooohhhhhhh the butter-tenor!) [No, not Elvis, the one he was crying to in the chapel:

Any further questions, Sister Karin? There is a place in Aarhus that offers even more comprehensive info … 😇

From the bottom of my, well, heart, I thank you for this dodgy teaching in religion!
I am quite sure though that the brilliant admin-guys in here, want us to stay away from exactly that!
I think, I THINK, our Ian in some song claims that it always causes a fight, or sumfin’!
But nevertheless, why don’t you become the next pope? Apparently some ‘dude’ in the US can help you use AI to make very neat photos….
May 24th, 2025 at 19:50☺️😄
@ 18 – “They had 8 different people mix it … they couldn’t get satisfied.” Ha ha ha, that sounds like 50 years ago, everyone including the tea lady at the controls. Hang on, that could be a good idea regarding this new DP record. Push Bob Ezrin to one side and get Ian Paice and Roger Glover plus a few others including the tea lady mixing the new album. That way, at least we will be able to hear all the instruments. Regarding that ‘turning to dust line’ from the good ole days, be careful Uwe. You are giving Karin ideas there, please think of poor René. Cheers.

“Regarding that ‘turning to dust line’ from the good ole days, be careful Uwe. You are giving Karin ideas there, please think of poor René.”
– WHAT!?!?!?!?
🤣
MacGregor, are you in all seriousness suggesting that I’m about to kill René? ( I can’t do that, you see the knives are too dull, and I do not possess enough arm muscles to lift the axe…) (wait, did I say that out loud 🤭) (please un-read the last lines ☺️)
Or are you suggesting that I will force René to do some more dusting in our home?
I’m all confused here, PLEASE elaborate! Thanks in advance
May 25th, 2025 at 09:50😇
Good news. I mean the new album
May 25th, 2025 at 10:46Sister Karin’s biblical knowledge seems somewhat jumbled together to me! Eve didn’t kill Adam, she just nagged – as wimmin do – in a mostly happy life and led him to poor choices …
“And another thing I won’t discuss is reeeee-leeeee-gion!” I never do, I’m not religious, I’m culture-Catholic, that is a HUGE difference!
The new Pope seems like a decent guy (as was the old one), let’s see.
May 25th, 2025 at 14:16@ 22- Karin I would never suggest such thing. If by accident when you were mixing up herbal tinctures in that fearsome cauldron you have and a certain ingredient happened to be a bit too powerful, it was an accident, he he he. Seriously it is your doglet Anton who I feel for the most. With all that Ian Gillan related music and your other half’s Metallica fascination all being played 24/7, surely Anton has had some hearing issues of late. The poor little thing, no wonder he always wants to go for walkies. Unless you both use headphones or something and Anton is totally and blissfully in silence. Get Anton his own listening device, no ear buds or headphones though. You both have to listen to his favourite song of all time, whenever he wants to play it. Cheers.

May 26th, 2025 at 01:29Rumour has it that the tea lady at Nashville studios is also a cleaning lady. She is not happy that at daybreak each day and attempting to undertake a bit of vacuuming, she is having to remove a very large mattress and pile of really thick blankets. Presuming that someone is sleeping over night, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Tea Lady: Mr Ezrin, do you know anything about all this, I am trying to clean up after all. Ezrin: I have them here to use them occasionally. Tea Lady: so you are sleeping here then? Ezrin: absolutely not. I have them here just in case I need them. Tea Lady: Well in the future can you please get them out of my way. Oh Mr Ezrin, before I continue cleaning up after all of you, when I was younger, just like you, I used to listen to this band Deep Purple and quite liked their records, they did sound rather good on all fronts. However these days, what has gone wrong? They sound terrible on their modern day recordings? Ezrin: I am repeating myself for the third time dear lady, I use those things on the floor occasionally when I need to. End of conversation. We do sincerely hope that the tea lady has thrown out that old mattress and all those blankets, for this new recording of the latest DP album. Cheers.
May 26th, 2025 at 02:04@24
😝😂
But know what Uwe?
I’m kind to animals!
And I make lovely coffee!

“If by accident”
– 🤣🤣
MacGregor, sometimes I read to René some of the posts in here, but that I do not dare anymore 😂😂😂
I never do anything by accident, and I can promise you it is frowned upon in Denmark to kill anyone 😁
On the other hand I will never kill René, did I forget to mention that 😂
Jokes aside, we take extraordinarily good care of the ears of Anton 😊
But I can tell you that dogs can hear quite loud noises without any damage is done to their hearing ability!
Think about how high pitched and very loud some dogs barks are, and they endure that in flying colour!
Also all the noise from thunderstorms etc, (but of course I don’t let the magnificent Ian sing directly into Anton’s ears 😊 even though I’m pretty sure he would enjoy it almost as much as I do!) but what a lot of people don’t know is that during loud noises (in what ever form they may have) dogs are phenomenal to distinct different sounds within the noise.
We do actually listen in our headphones, and if we need to listen to the same music, Anton is in his bed in another part of the house.
MacGregor, I really thought you had at least some kind of sympathy for me, but I can see you certainly haven’t , while you suggest the butter-tenor and ‘Hound Dog’ 😄😄
May 26th, 2025 at 09:18Well, I’m nothing if not forgiving by nature, so I’ll let this on pass (strike 1!) 😅
Herr MacGregor, I was really hoping that your “cleaning lady & the blankets”-tale would at one point turn to random recreational sex on studio floors, but somehow you never fail to disappoint.
I recommend Metallica’s St. Anger to you for an unmuffled, puristic drum sound, that should definitely do it! Crash-bang-wallop!

Coffee Maid Karin, have you tried Kopi Luwak? I have, we once decided in the office to pitch together and buy a pound just to see what it was like. I tried it and – surprise – it didn’t taste like crap, more earthy, veggie and faintly reminiscent of malt coffee or Muckefuck as we call it in Germany (our more juvenile English readers will no doubt construe all kinds of things into that innocent term … 🙄). Nothing repulsive to it, but not something I would need to have everyday either.
May 26th, 2025 at 13:37“If by accident when you were mixing up herbal tinctures in that fearsome cauldron you have and a certain ingredient happened to be a bit too powerful, it was an accident, he he he.”
You’re right, MacGregor, things can inevitably go wrong sometimes and the stages of watching Karin’s lawn from above or below ⬇️ are really only transitional. Denmark’s reform prison system is legendary (and has the highest rehabilitation quotas in the world), I’m sure Karin would only receive a mild sentence and there is this role model facility for her eventual betterment called “Pension Engelsborg” in Copenhagen …

All will be good.

“Kopi Luwak”
– no, can’t say that I have! Somehow I tend to avoid any food or beverages that have passed through the digestive-systems of any animals (or human beings ☺️)
I have heard it would be really yummy though!
But still I wonder the scenario:
A man who was really in need of some coffee, saw these coffee-beans, unfortunately a toddy cat had been eating those beans and have delivered them again through the digestive system, but he was is such a distress because of the lacking of coffee, that he thought to himself: “I.Need.Coffee.NOW!”
I really can’t imagine what this man must have been going through to get those beans and actually drinking the coffee!
(I have the same feelings regarding how hungry the first man was who dared eating a lobster 😱) (or prawns! They don’t look yummy before cooking either!)
And those who might wonder how come I mention this to be men doing these deeds, well Max told me that only men have the time for such adventures, while I on the other hand came with an in-depth analysis of why women never have time to anything fun or daring experiences! 😉☺️
May 26th, 2025 at 16:43@30
“I’m sure Karin would only receive a mild sentence”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well well well!
May 26th, 2025 at 16:46Karin, re Kopi Luwak your scenario is not far off: In Indonesia, where coffee had been introduced by Europeans, the indigenous people worked (slaved) on the coffee plantations, but were not allowed to themselves consume the valuable coffee beans deemed for export themselves – except those of course that lay on the ground of the coffee plantations and had visibly been eaten before …
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3b/Kopi_luwak_090910-0075_lamb.JPG
And btw: civets are NOT cats. They are basically a mongoose variety. Why would a carnivore cat eat coffee fruit?
As regards the intestinal and gestational process of arriving at Kopi Luwak, we all eat bee puke (= honey) and no one gives a shit (pun intended). It’s all culturally acquired.
May 26th, 2025 at 20:58@ 29 -I didn’t think that ‘pensioners’ did that sort of thing Uwe. Seriously though and yes that Metallica album is, well I had better not say it. The latest Porcupine Tree album has that muffled compressed sound too, it is the way of things these days for many, unfortunately. Even Steven Wilson has his flaws, but at least the remixes of older albums that he does, that I have heard are rather good. As I have always said, when there is guitar riff based hard rock slash metal, the drums and other instruments get a hard time. Black Sabbath’s Born Again album looks to have been a precursor to this modern day dirty muffled sound, in that hard rock genre. Anyway, as long as the songs are to our liking, that does come first. @ 28 -Karin, I do have empathy and compassion. I was testing you as to your discipline or lack of it. So you couldn’t resist and you clicked on that link. Although as it wasn’t from Uwe I can understand that, even I regularly succumb to the old curiosity syndrome. Oscar Wilde ‘I can resist anything, but temptation itself’. Did Anton like the song from the butter tenor or did he bolt to the other side of the house, ha ha ha. Dogs do have sensitive hearing indeed. Can you apologise to him for me. What would happen when Ian Gillan starts going falsetto, please do not play him any of Ian Gillan’s music, ever! Poor Anton, he must be tempted to live on the other side of your house permanently, the poor little thing. Take him for more walks and don’t you take your music with you, that way Anton can enjoy a lovely ‘no Ian Gillan’ walk each and every day. Cheers.
May 26th, 2025 at 22:41I don’t know about coffee beans but here is Blackadder querying Baldrick about how he managed to get so much custard out of a small cat.

“As regards the intestinal and gestational process of arriving at Kopi Luwak, we all eat bee puke (= honey) and no one gives a shit (pun intended). It’s all culturally acquired.”
– Touché! 😆 You got me there!
May 27th, 2025 at 02:57But at least we don’t see the little fellas puke! And it tastes yummy instantly 😃
@33
“Why would a carnivore cat eat coffee fruit?”
– well I dunno!
Why does a carnivore like my very own Anton eat grass, oranges, cucumber-slices, apples, carrots, kale etc (except grapes, they are no go for doglets!)?
I guess they like to tickle their digestive system!
I guess most carnivores don’t get enough fibers and vitamins through their meat-diet…
Did you know btw, that the blue whale cannot eat anything with a larger circumference than a grapefruit?
Very interesting detail I think!
Maybe Ian and Roger would make a song about the wonders of the animals 🤩
May 27th, 2025 at 07:57Dogs have over aeons alongside humans become more omni- than carnivore. Cats have retained more of their original dietary preferences. My first wife had a lovely dog and his favorite food was – I swear – spaghetti with sauce Bolognese. He only got it like once every two weeks, but he always went wild about it.
I’m surprised that a blue whale manages something as large as even only a grapefruit! They are baleen whales which means that they are plankton vacuum cleaners of the sea, filtering an amount of 2,000 to 9,000 pounds (or 900 to 4100 kg) of plankton EACH DAY through their baleen grid. They have to eat all day to survive.
https://www.blueoceansociety.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/hero-2017-04-18-CCS-SW-Melissa-Yow-100_1935-1440×600-1-752×440.jpg
JFK btw reportedly identified as a blue whale:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ha9GJwlus8
“Ich bin ein baleener.”
Ouch, that was an awful pun.
Can I tell a another whale joke then to make good?
Two female sperm whales 🐳 🐳 travel across the sea when they lay eyes on a group of whalers struggling in a life boat after their whaling ship has sunk. Says one of the whales to the other one all vengeful: “Let’s blow them out of their puny boat and eat them, they are the ones who killed your parents!” The orphaned whale, however, is hesitant: “I might blow just a little, but I’m sure as hell not gonna swallow any seamen.”
I’m horrible, I know.
May 27th, 2025 at 14:33@38
“Dogs have over aeons alongside humans become more omni- than carnivore.”
– in Denmark it has been very popular to give dogs raw meat, in Danish called ‘BARF’ (yes, I am very well aware what that name sounds like!) Nevertheless a lot of dogs have enjoyed it.
The idea behind BARF is to let dogs eat as they would without supervision.
Anton didn’t like it.
He looked at the raw meat with disbelief and suspicion.
So he got his dry foot back, and the neighbours dog got the raw meat 😅
“They have to eat all day to survive.”
– well many people feel the same way ☺️
I heard the “grapefruit/blue whale” info at QI, BBC, with the legendary Stephen Fry as host.
And now to the musical input:

“Can I tell an another whale joke then to make good?”
– yes alright!
May 27th, 2025 at 16:21But Uwe, that was awful! 😄
Now all you made me think about is the poor orphan whale 😱
My experience with dogs being fed raw meat as a continuous diet is: After a while our shepherds stunk like a lion or tiger in a zoo, no joke, bad breath too. And they didn’t like it that much, one of their preferred foods was cow lung – they really ravaged into that – and they liked that much better boiled than raw. I still remember the smell when my mother cooked it for them, not pleasant, but they loved it. With rice.
Dogs aren’t wolves anymore, no use pretending the opposite. And then there is always Valerie, that hardy little dachshund which survived the fearsome Australian wild:
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/video/2025/may/07/valerie-the-dachshund-is-reunited-with-her-owners-after-529-days-in-the-wilderness-video
I have a hunch that His Shadiness Herr MacGregor, that vile pet abductor, hid her all that time.
https://youtu.be/Tom7xAjOu0k
May 27th, 2025 at 20:12I have to say that my coffee took some getting down this morning after reading that whale joke, and then to keep it down. Poor Anton, he would be appalled knowing what his master is getting up to here at times. Uwe, think of little Anton and everyone else too, including Karin, please. I did enjoy the joke by the way. Cheers.
May 27th, 2025 at 23:49@42
May 28th, 2025 at 13:34You’re right MacGregor, poor Anton!
I better make sure he never reads in here anymore 😄
@41
“After a while our shepherds stunk like a lion or tiger in a zoo, no joke, bad breath too.”
– I know this guy (dear Admin-guys, he is not a musician, but his girl tells me that he often sings in the shower, hope that is enough about music 😉😇) and he felt he needed to drop some weight, and he actually did the ‘Carnivore’-diet!
Sadly few days in the diet, they went on a holiday with some friends, and he thought it would be ‘noooo problem’ to stay on that diet for the whole vacation.
Well, it wasn’t as easy 😄
His friends and his girl called him ‘the Lion’ because he ate like one, and he has this big hair too. Well, at the beginning everything was fine and dandy (I’ve often wondered: Dandy? Who or what is it? In Denmark we once had some chewinggum named Dandy, but that’s a completely different story ☺️) but then the friends and his girl wanted ice cream….
Suddenly ‘the Lion’ wanted some ice cream too..
Then the group had pizza, ‘Lion-man’ suddenly ate the pizza, and not just the filling, but especially the crunchy pizza base. And on day 2 (two!) the diet was no more 😄😄
He was pretty tired of it, but couldn’t help himself with all the niceties there were available!
May 28th, 2025 at 17:25When they came home his story to me was: “I couldn’t keep on being on the diet Karin, I really had to take into account that I had a REALLY bad breath” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I thought that was some real bad excuse, if I ever had heard one! But maybe Uwe, he did have a point?!
@ 41 – If I had been hiding Valerie or anyone else had for that matter Uwe, she at least wouldn’t have possibly been eating our endangered wildlife. Hopefully she was just eating rabbits or blackbirds or something that our relatives brought out here. An estimated one billion native creature are killed each year just by feral and domestic cats. Foxes and dogs impacting on wildlife would be in high numbers too. Anyway at least it was a good ending for all concerned in that story. Cheers.
May 29th, 2025 at 09:28I do hope the production on the next album is an improvement over =1, I think Bob slipped up on that, vocals are too dry and too loud at times. Be good to have some longer tracks where the band stretch out a bit. Great that they still have the inspiration to want to record though.
May 29th, 2025 at 11:06I believe Valerie thoroughly enjoyed her time as the prime predator on that island – not sure whether she was eager to return to civilization! Dachshunds are fierce and tenacious hunting dogs originally bred to hunt badgers (🦡 = Dachs in German) and foxes in their tunnel systems, hence the short legs and burrow-friendly large paws.
People have become obsessive with invasive species threats: In Canada even earth worms/night crawlers are an issue (the don’t have natural enemies there), in Germany it’s raccoons and North American crustaceans, in Italy and Spain giant European catfish that weren’t there originally (but love the warmth and grow exponentially ), in the US European carp and wild boar are a problem, in New Zealand it’s Aussie possums and in Australia Aga or cane toads.
I sometimes think to myself: This is evolution at work. Any species is geared to expand its habitat given the chance and man, an animal himself, created a multitude of possibilities for species to reach new environments. Stemming against that natural tide (counter measures are rarely if ever successful) seems counter-evolution to me. The iguanas that were swept on the Galapagos Islands didn’t evolve there, they were castaways from the South American mainland and eventually learned to swim, dive and eat algae and sea plants in a saltwater environment rather than, say, bananas on trees. They were originally an invasive life form – who’s to say that makes their presence there today less worthy? And who decides on what grounds at what point an originally invasive species is no longer deemed invasive?

And who decides at what point an originally invasive species is no longer deemed invasive?
May 29th, 2025 at 23:02@ 47- “They were originally an invasive life form – who’s to say that makes their presence there today less worthy? And who decides on what grounds at what point an originally invasive species is no longer deemed invasive?” Us, the worst of all of the invasive species Uwe. Think about it. Cheers.
May 29th, 2025 at 23:11I was worried you might say that I’m an invasive species here though admittedly I could have seen some truth in that! 😂
May 30th, 2025 at 14:39@ 50 -ha ha ha, no Uwe not at all. As we are all aware, no-one is spared from that, even us immigrants all the way out here in no man’s land. I always think of the hypocrisy when cursing ‘introduced’ creatures in my garden. For example black birds, rabbits etc, cursing them as introduced pests within earshot and I can just imagine them saying to each other ‘he ought to talk, what a hypocrite’. Cheers.
May 30th, 2025 at 23:04Well, if Simon writes something like SometimesIFeelLike, BirdsofPrey, Manalive, chapeau. That would be history of sort.
