Snakes and sheds

We have a bunch of new Whitesnake summer dates. The European leg of the tour has lost the Classic Rock Festival in Norway (where the parent company went bankrupt), but gained a gig in Århus, Denmark on June 1.

The North American tour of corporate sheds on both coasts and open air festivals in the Midwest will start on June 26 and work it’s way around the continent until August 11. And we use the ‘North American’ moniker in a very broad sense as it includes only one date outside of the US — July 7 in Toronto, Canada. Many of these dates will indeed be on a double bill with Judas Priest, and whatever indications are available at this time point to Whitesnake opening for Priest.

Full details in our Purple Calendar.

Please note that the North American dates (nor the new Danish show) have not been confirmed on Whitesnake.com.

Thanks to BraveWords for the info.

    Wow!!!!

The first two shows in the states are Missouri and Mississippi. Both are less than 6 hours by car….I’m THERE!!!!

I don’t have a problem with WS opening for JS. I support the ‘Seniority Issue’ here. Somebody has to go on first. As long as they are given equal time…..

    Cheers

    Funny

When WHITESNAKE came to Holland I only had to travel about one hour and still I did not feel the urge to go…..

Prefrred saving money and stayed home to watch Comedy factor channel instead, hehehe

I’m no longer interested in Judas Priest, but I would be there to support WS simply because I missed them last time they were through here… not sure I’d stay for Priest, so it would be even a better night because I’ll still likely get some sleep that way.

I’m thinking White River, WA, most likely… just a two and a half hour drive. I doubt they’d play any closer to this neck.

Two shows in Minnesota, the first a ten minute drive, I’m there!

Until I have total confirmation of DC´s vocal condition I´ll stay at home! I gave him the last chance to convince me last december here in Copenhagen….he flunked miserabely!

According to Sweden Rock Magazine the metal queer ( sorry…GOD?? )Rob Halford should retire! It´s so sad ones old heroes making such fools of themselves! Where´s the integrity, pride and self criticism, or is it just a case of milking the last buck????

Nahh, I think I just sit this one over and take a stroll down memory lane, remembering the WS gig in Stockholm in `81 and the Priest gig in the same city in `84……GOD, those were truly the days!! Now, where´s that “Come an´Get it ” CD….??? ROCK ON!!!

    Lonely days, lonely nights……

Well, I always have Frasier, The Simpsons, That 70 s Show and so on to make me laugh.

Better than getting sad all over listening to the shadow of DC s voice…

I ll always remember 1983 in Utrecht
Cozy and his audience that kept on cheering COZY!!! COZY!!! prompting Dc to say I ll take the fucking roof off later, Cozy!!!
Lordy trying to HUSH the metal part of the audience who ruined his solo shouting for rock…
Mel RIP Galley with his his unsurpassed moments in Crying In The Rain
Colin The Bomber Hodgkinson with his awkward solo spot
And ofcourse the mighty Coverdale still in great shape and without bleeched hair.

    Those were the days

Real musicians, real persons, not a cartoon outfit.

    Sorry DC

Thanks my man, looking forward to it!! I truly hope for a great show for you and your countrymen! I´ll have my fingers ( and legs ) crossed, that DC will surprise all the sceptics yours truly included, and deliver a hell of a show!

    To Purplepriest!

I hear you……I know how you feel (SOB )! Well, at least I´m old enough to say: I was there….ROCK ON!!!

Finally, another US Tour, but opening for JP is fairly awkward for DC, but it’s been awhile since they’ve toured over here, The 2 Ohio shows will be really good, both shows in Open air amphitheatres! And are maintained really well, I saw Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ted Nugent although I missed Nug, in Columbus Ohio in 2001 in an amphitheatre almost identical to the place in Cincinnati, and the sound will be outstanding. I can guarantee that much, let’s hope Whitesnake will get equal playing time, because Priest is not really doing much business anymore, as I’ve mentioned lately Snakes GTBB cd has surpassed the 300.000 mark without much help from the Record Company or airplay. I did hear Lay Down your Love quite a bit off of the Radio Station The Bear 105.3 Blacksburg Va. for awhile, but mostly we still get Here I Go Again, Still of the Night, Love an’t no Stranger, Slow & Easy, thats about it!! But I’ll definitely be there, DC’s promising a few new tunes this time out, Lets hope The River Song appears!! Ciao Boys & Girls Bill

Well, maybe one day I ll forget everything I said and MEANT but give it another shot

Like my old man said …..
You ll never learn, dont ya?!

Unfortunately he made a bad example, I had never ending struggles with him urging him to stop smoking and do exercises….
    Well…..
    Too late now…..

    Bill The Wizard Pierce:

I was at the Columbus, Ohio show also. Attended the meet and greet with Purple and met the Nug. His sound was a little distorted, but he was a great opener for Purple and Skynnrd. Had a great discussion on the present music scene and of course his and my main blood pumping, adrenalin pounding favorite past time HUNTING. What a great gig that was, and well worth the Air Fare and hotel expense. Got to hang with my idols and share some brews…..YES, BREWS with Purple and yes THE NUG. Maybe he didn’t swallow…….like Clinton didn’t inhale….he he he…

Looking forward to WS and even JP. Never saw JP live before. Better late than never. Saw WS a few times under different line-ups each time. All Good even if it’s Bad….

    Cheers

    Bo says:

To purplepriest1965: You are so 101% right. Whitesnake are dead. There is a frontman with the same name and he cant sing like the old Coverdale. And the rest – forget it.
What DV can do is 3 things. 1)reform to the real Whitesnake, 2)reform Deep Purple MrkIII or leave the stage.
I will go and see the DVD from Donnington with Lord and Powel. Those where the days my friends……

  13. 13
    Crimson Ghost says:

    @11

I’ve heard on many occasions the NUG say he has never had a drink in his life. Whatever, enough of that.

  14. 14
Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

Like I said……The Great (not in my mind) Clinton said stuff too….

    1. I didn’t inhale
    2. I did not have sex with that woman.

    And he was under OATH.

Nug was just talking….The day you take any of these celebrity types words with a grain of salt, will be the day you put Fairy Dust to rest….Even Purple Fairy Dust….he he he.

That’s why you never see me get involved in the “he said, she said” BS that takes place here regarding what each of the Purple folks said about or to each other over the years. It’s all BS. They say what they feel at the time and change it due to how they feel the next time. That’s Soap Opera shit and I don’t give a rat’s ass.

What I do care about is what they do on stage, in the studio, and in my presence. Aside from that, who cares? I do know Ted hunts. I like that. Whether he drinks or not……don’t care. If he feels the need to state it as fact or fiction, that is his load to bare that I have no relation to. That’s between him and the empty bottle he held that he didn’t drink…..he he he. In all due respects, it just turns to piss anyway.

    Cheers

  15. 15
    Crimson Ghost says:

Well, he did drink in your “presence.” lol!

I would apply your philosophy to most of the trivia and whining that goes on here in general though.

  16. 16
Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

The trivia here is just that. It’s either current or trivia. Current today, trivia tomorrow. There are many factions of both. My point was that the bickering between members of the band is really nothing to get one’s panties in an uproar about. Those issues really are the emotional concepts that They feel and no one can really judge the validity of it. Plus…who cares who said what and who did what. In the end, what shows up on the Album or at the Show is all that one should concern themselves with. Actual information regarding the Band and their plans are worthy in interviews and discussion, but wanking on about a cat fight within the band is useless to me, and in all reality to anyone,,,,,,

    Cheers

    Bill The Wizard Pierce says:

Hey Tracy, Hell I want to go to shows with you girl, how’d you get that meet and greet? Sounds really great, are you going to the Snake gigs? If so which one? Us Purple heads need to stick together, The gig in 2001 was really hot wasn’t it? My buddy JD is a Zakk Wylde fanatic, when I was telling him the history of Purple, with Blackmore and now Steve, JD was seriously blown away by how good he is!! anyway I think that Whitesnake has still got plenty of venom left in them and it will be a damn good show! Let me know if your actually going to one of the Ohio gigs! BP

  18. 18
    Bill The Wizard Pierce says:

Hey Tracy, I also agree with you about infighting within band members, all we should be interested in the actual music and shows, but when you’ve lived and breathed this band or that band for as long as most of us has we do get involved, it’s like family!! I’ve followed David ever since 74 when I heard the majestic Sailaway, that damn vocalist has paved my way through life in the ups and downs! He or they have been my musical soundtrack for as long as I can remember, so you know we get a little over involved I guess! anyway peace out Ciao darlings Bill

    Bill The Wizard Pierce says:

Tracy’s a dude? What up with That? I did think the he was a girl, sorry Tracy but still, how’d you get that meet and greet? I didn’t hear anything about it! BP

    Crimson Ghost says:

    @16

    I resemble that entire remark!

Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

    And the Beat Goes On….

BILL, BILL, BILL….why do you think they call me Dick Tracy….he he he. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I happen to get invited to various M&G through my affiliation with Roger Glover. You can read my review on that gig in the Tour Review Archives along with pictures….

I don’t live near Ohio, I just happened to go on a trip to see them there along with the gig in Noblesville, Indiana. Both were back to back wonderful gigs.

Priest, ‘In Your Dreams’……but since you brought up that Gay Subject again……is that how you derived at your Code name? Were you once a Catholic Priest, playing with the ‘Purple Headed Darth Vader of little boys’ hence Purple Priest…..?

Hey it’s what you get for going there…

    Cheers

    Bill The Wizard Pierce says:

You guys are crazy as hell, he he. But thats what makes life interesting, ya know? BP

    Now I m not into closing them……

    Rascal says:

Lets hope DC’s voice has returned to form……

Havent seen them ‘live’ for many years, maybe its time to go and see if they can still do it!

  29. 29
    Bill The Wizard Pierce says:

Oh yeah, DC can still deliver the goods, but a long tour would be rough probably, 14-15-16 gigs is probably the best, then take off 2 weeks hell, he is 57. Those year long tours can kill you and truly kill your voice! Ian is what 63 now? and he can still deliver the goods, but shorter tours with a little more rest would work better. Why not write more music???? It’s hard to wait 2 or 3 yrs for new tunes! As for Whitesnake, It’s been 97 Restless Heart, and of course the 01 solo CD. Personally I would like more product to listen to. BP

    Bill The Wizard Pierce says:

Hey Tracy, or Purplepriest, Have you guys got the new Gillan cd yet? One Eye to Morocco isn’t it? Give me your guys review on the CD! I don’t trust just anybodys opinion on CD’s ya know Thanx Bill

    More Black says:

Why David insists in singing like Brian Johnson? He was singing like this the last time the tour in Brazil with Judas.Horrible. Someone would have to tell him how ridiculous it is.

  32. 32
Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

    Bill,

    I give ONE EYE a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10……

It’s not for everyone, but if you put aside PURPLE, and give it a go, you should find it very well done and also very versatile in respects to various genres. The more I listen, the more I like it. You can’t go wrong by purchasing it. Unless of course you are a tightwad like Priest……he he he….

    Cheers
