Snapshot, as elprupdeep aptly put it is a masterpiece. This is the album I would take on a deserted island, for today obviously. 😉

QOE is imo one of the worst tracks and still a major gem if it’s any indication what a massive easy listening masterpiece ‘Snapshot’ really is. To me it’s easily one of the best personal achievements in the Purple family solo releases.

Not to ever likely be disputed as far as I’m concerned, it gets no better than this.

Different strokes, it really must be or something, my dad even still plays the album, and my local classic rock station still had QOE in rotation…. yeah baby!!!!!!!!!!

    Operative word here:
    “MASTERPIECE”

Roberto, if Stung recorded an album like Snapshot it would be his best album of all, I am sure. Why I consider this album a masterpiece of Roger’s?

Well… It has great musicians on it, and shows that Roger is not only a great composer of rock style music, but within more diverse frame he feels like a fish in the water. Songs are very well crafted, production is very rich, the instrumentation is amazing, and Randall has a great voice, though I adore ‘Burn Me Up Slowly’ with Roger’s singing. The album is a blend of rock, blues, folk with a bit of country music, and for me personally it is very positive, optimistic record. Check out the track ‘It’s Only Life’.
