Blackmore’s Night in the “Yes Man”

Ritchie Blackmore, St.Petersburg June 11, 2008. © 2008 http://spblife.info/, used with permission.

Blackmore’s Night song Olde Mill Inn is featured in the new Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man, with Blackmore and Night names mentioned in the closing credits. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but here’s the proof.

Olde Mill Inn is a real place and has been the couple’s favourite hangout in Long Island ever since the infamous Normandie Inn closed down a few years back.

You’d think I would have noticed it when I saw the movie, I mean it shouldn’t be hard to recognize on the spot, but I didn’t hear it.
They must have only played a very short snippet, perhaps?

    Ohhhhh…….’Dick Whiteless’.

The great actor who hides in the Black Forest and wears tights, strums on a mandolin in hopes of never being reminded of his past, where he actually wore pants and played a mean strat…..

    Cheers again

Right on Tracy!!! Long live the Morse Era 🙂

Hmm…no doubt his mother in law will scoop up all 4 copies from the local Blockbuster, have Ritchie sign them all and then flog them off for 10 bucks a pop at the local flea market. Seriously though, good interview with RB from 1974 on youtube (just search Blackmore and list by “most recent”). Even then he talks about just leaving the rock business altogether. As much as it pains me to see him reincarnated into one of Robin Hood’s merry men…..I wish him well and am grateful for the great stuff over the years.

Funny that certain people resent me because of repeating the same thing over and over again

It seems that Tracy has 2 fixations or obsessions, if you like

    TMIB AND ME

    Priest!

Don´t flatter yourself, you´re not that interesting! If anyone´s obsessed you´re the one who takes the cake! No matter what the topic is, it´s always the same old song and dance….Blackmore this,Blackmore that…bla, bla, bla!

Maybe you´re being paid by his agency to keep him out of oblivion or….maybe you´re just his bitch! Bend over Priest…the lute is coming! ROCK ON!

Hahahaha, oops, that might come off as “abusive” and “defaming” and we can’t be having that, it’s been proven offensive according to minor indication.

    1. Yes, of course, who else would I be? (scan the vibes before posting on any forum, and if they have a written set of rules, abide or stick to reading and forget about posting)

    2. I didn’t indicate anything but sarcasm… when I do that it can easily be detected, expression of laughter is one indication.

    3. You can only truly ‘respect’ those you ‘truly’ know.

    Anything else Blackmore crusader?

This has become increasingly personal, very bizarre

    It has been said before

Almost unbelievable that people sharing a love, in this case music, Deep Purple etc, for something can sink to a level like this

I ve just been watching the DVD on which ex Gillan members give their view on history

Its not completely new of course

Who s wrong or who s right?

    Endless discussions

And in the end the bitter taste of losing your trust in men

Well, I suppose it does not really matter what I write.

Kind regards to the man who appearantly leads that other forum on which, according to his own words, people behave friendly towards each other.

    SEVEN-47 says:

    purplepriest1965;

Of course what you write matters, if it didn’t people wouldn’t respond. You’re right; we all share a love for the same thing, but disagree about certain elements of said thing. A lot of the comments between those of us who disagree contain sarcasm, smarminess, and sometimes personal attacks. Just like when brothers and sisters argue. We’re a “family,” and I bet if we all got together and spent the day discussing our views, we would all have had a good time at the end of the day!

Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

    Seven-47 on the money….

Priest…TMIB is the topic of this blog. My initial comment was regarding HIM and then at the same time I couldn’t help thinking of YOU, due to you 2 being joined at the hip. So then decided to add you into the fray. It just seemed the natural thing to do here.

It’s like what Seven-47 stated above. We’re like family and family knows it’s various family members. You are like that Drunk Uncle that always show up at the family reunion, in the same clothes with the same old story……Everybody loves him, but if only he would change his tune…..

    Cheers

    Rascal says:

Do you mean the ‘smelly’ uncle, with the ‘limp’, ‘funny eye’, and ‘wandering hand’?

Ive stopped inviting him to the reunions…..he scares the kids, and the dog!!

    Priest

Things that go on here cannot be found on my forum, it’s allowed here, apparently, so responding the way I do here is because you say provoking things but seem to expect a positive response to negative statements that always have the same common denominator, RB, no matter what the subject.

It’s not exactly hard to predict several elements before you even post them. Okay with me, but don’t expect the silent treatment. Try contributing more often without that approach and the response just might be positive… but you know that, you’re not stupid, you just don’t want positive replies to your negative comments, but you act semi-shocked when replied to, which is just another drama extension.

If you didn’t want an argument you would have stopped by now.

You like the attention, but you’d get more healthy attention if you didn’t play the outcast card.

Try it sometime… it’s obvious you’re not happy, but not everyone here isn’t, in fact very few from what I can tell… so maybe it’s a personal problem, but if so, it’s not really about us, it’s about DP related stuff. But you make it about yourself when you post the same gripes over and over, understand.

I address what you post, so whatever drives it is your responsibility if you feel personally attacked… leave yourself out of your posts more often and that wouldn’t be the case.

Difficult? I have a hard time myself as you’ve seen, but at least I mix it up and don’t repeat myself concerning my unhappiness and have to allude to RB at every last opportunity.lol!

Self irony is so much better than self pity Priest, not to mention much healthier!

I´m afraid you´re one of those weirdos who´s not happy unless you´re unhappy Priest! Do yourself a favour and snap out of it, instead of playing the high priest of Ritchieanity!!

The perspective of life can be so much better if it´s not one sided!By the way….I have nothing against you whatsoever Priest,in fact I´m sure you´re quite endearing…..You just annoys me from time to time, just like members of a dysfuctional family useally does!! ROCK ON!!

    Rascal says:

    Can you belive it!!

The ‘smelly’ unncle gate-crashed yesterdays re-union!!

The kids were crying, and damned dog went crazy.

Enoughs, enough……..Unfortunately, and sadly I had to have him ‘shot’……..

Still……..at least the kids and dog have calmed down!
