Back into the studio

Detroit classic rock radio station WCSX has a quote from Ian Paice regarding the band’s immediate plans: We all come over to your huge country after the Christmas break. We start around the end of January. We’ll go back into the studio in Nashville with Bob Ezrin; We had such a great time making the […]

Trying not to make too many mistakes (and the tech that helps)

Deep Purple’s monitor company HK Audio interviewed Ian Paice during the last German tour: Band’s monitor engineer extraordinaire Rob Hodgkinson speaks about the nuts and bolts of the job. Most of you would not be familiar with his work, as he is the man responsible for members of the band hearing each other on stage. […]

Who knows where the time goes?

In his customary end-of-the-year address, Roger Glover reminisces on 2015, which for him culminated with a low(-ish) key 50th anniversary reunion of Episode Six (we admit, that one flew completely under our radar). Sandy Denny’s song is as relevant now as it ever was. Steve Miller sang about time slipping into the future. Our Time […]

It is an arbitrary selection of past members, which excludes Steve […]

He didn’t say anything he hasn’t already said to Rolling Stone, just reconfirming the talking points: somebody probably will show up at the induction ceremony; who that will be and who will be performing what (if anybody […]

And publicity generate it does

Hot on the heels of the Hall of Fame announcement, Rolling Stone magazine has published an interview with Paicey: Do you think part of the problem is so many voters are in America and you were never quite as big here as you were overseas? Of course, that does effect what people are aware of. […]

22 years too late

Apparently it happened, nevertheless. According to Billboard, it is Marks 1 to 3 that are inducted, while New York Times gives a list of members that include the first three lineups with the notable omission of Nick Simper. Induction ceremony will be held on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Blackmore’s Night will go on

Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night were interviewed on Rich Davenport’s Rock Show that aired on Total Rock this past weekend. Selected […]
