The Hollywood minute of summer 2026

deep purple splat cover artCNN has a less-than-a-minute-and-a-half long report on the new album Splat!. Apparently, dropping the name of Keith Urban into the mix doesn’t hurt with getting some mainstream exposure. Ain’t no such thing as bad publicity, right?

Watch is on CNN.com.

Angus Young a hunk? 🤯 I saw his pale, flat, unepilated & pimply butt in 1976 up close, not the type of guy to trigger wimmin into instant ovulation and breedability! 🤣

You need to do better, Timi, and I mean A LOT better. ☝️🥸

    Now that‘s more like it!

    Jeffa says:

The “Aussie hunk” Urban was actually born in New Zealand.

Just like lamingtons, pavlova, flat whites & Phar Lap.

    Uwe Hornung says:

Well, now that is really splitting kangaroo‘s hairs, isn‘t NZ to Australia sort of what Greenland is to the USA, Jeffa? 🤐

More like Canada to the USA Uwe.

Or Ireland to the English. 😊

    Uwe Hornung says:

AC/DC was always a band of exceedingly ugly-looking guys, I noticed that immediately when I first saw them in 1976, not one of them was even approaching handsomeness, hell, they could have given Dr Feelgood a run for their money.

The first guy who looked decent with them was Cliff Williams, but I still saw the original line-up with Mark Evans, who although not the worst was no Robert Redford either.

Hello Uwe, I never thought that a male would set so much high value on how good-looking the members of a band are😉

    Brava Beate 🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This is something that have puzzled me all the time in here:

The gentlemen discuss Ian Gillan’s clothing to an extent where I thought I found myself in the fashion week in Milan, Copenhagen etc 😄

Whereas I go for the context, someone in here (read: Uwe) goes after the exterior.
    Inhalt vor Form 😃

(Psst Beate – maybe that’s why our favourite lawyer is so obsessed with that America chick, oh what’s her name – Taylor von Swift or sumfin’ 😄, because she sure looks good, aber der Inhalt lacks quite a bit! And thank you, now my ranting is over and done with 😙)

Ladies, it’s quite simple , even the highest educated men are in for what Keith Richards called ” T&As” in one of his sophisticated compositions

    Thank you Sir 😊

    Uwe Hornung says:

    Liebste Beate & liebste Karin,

please accept my sincere apologies that your previous realms of experience have now led you both to the – no doubt very distressing – confrontation with the following belated realizations:

    1. A non-gay cisgender male can appreciate Ms Taylor Swift’s music without wishing to get into her pants. I find her “girl next door”-conventionally pretty in an utterly nonalluring way, but I admire her work ethos and determination. Honestly, I’m more the Patti Smith guy visually. As my dear wife always says: “You have the weirdest taste in women ever!

    – Likewise a non-gay cisgender male can appreciate the good looks of a man. Hope this doesn’t unsettle you, but I find handsome men attractive. (Handsome wimmin too.) I thought Rick Parfitt and Tommy Bolin were handsome and that attracted me with both. I also think Robert Redford and Rick Springfield were/are handsome. As are Vincent Cassel

    and Kevin Bacon.

Brad Pitt does little for me as does Jon Bon Jovi, sorry.

    3. I also don’t mind if a person – regardless of gender – is well-dressed. Das Auge isst ja mit.

    @13

    Dear Uwe 😃

You have a unique tendency to misunderstand me!

I’m not thinking at all if you have some, ahem, personal interests in either men or women.

I am merely thinking of your great interest in their clothing!
That you somehow like a band more if they are well dressed 😃

    And that is ok!

Me, I just listen to the music….

@ 8…. kinda like the Ramones Uwe.

  16. 16
    Uwe Hornung says:

Yes, Timi, the Ramones weren’t really handsome either, but Joey with his Marfan’s Syndrome leading him to tower at 6’6 to 6’8 (198-203 cm, highly unusual for a rock musicians, more so for a singer)

was of course an iconic sight. Most people don’t realize how extraordinarily tall he was, because his lanky frame was mostly slumped, like a lot of very tall people he didn’t really care about appearing tall(er). I remember being hugely impressed by the cover of the Ramones debut, it encapsulated Lower East Side/East Village NYC to me. Still have a soft spot for it today.

They should’ve included the Ramones in the Monsters tv series episode back in the day they would’ve fit right inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-pYhbiif3g&list=PLyQ29uBk6Pyj8MT7sTwlW7gBRGQ7qSuID&index=1&pp=iAQB
