The Hollywood minute of summer 2025

CNN has a 100-second report on Deep Purple, during which they manage to cover all the major things that are happening to the band this summer — the Stranger Things tie-in, Made in Japan and Rapture of the Deep reissues, mention that the band is still going strong and working on new music, and interview the Deep Purple Podcast co-host Nate Beaudry. All without a single “Mr. Grover, Mr. Gillian” moment.

Watch it on CNN.com.

Deep Purple are mutating to darlings of the press – evidently, the postman does ring twice.

It is indeed great that a new generation get to know Purple!

How thrilling it is that ‘In Rock finally gets some recognition 😃

This is major publicity in the USA. Frankly, I’m blown away that it is getting hyped on one of the largest cable networks in America. That the tune “Child in Time” is on the “Stranger Things” teaser is big news. The last time DP had anything nearly on this scale here was the NBC-TV network live appearance on “The Today Show” ten years ago in New York City.

Dear friends, if God still gives health to our beloved Purple, I predict a sold out world tour in 2026 (including major American arenas)

I saw an interview in July with Keith Urban where he mentions that DP were making a new album at his recording studio in Nashville with Bob Ezrin. The interview was mostly about Keith’s gear, but he did say that he really liked Simon’s McBride’s guitar.
