The floodgates have opened

The official Ritchie Blackmore Youtube channel we’ve discovered yesterday has posted 10 more clips of him talking about everything from Jimmy Page to his future in rock, along with a couple of live tracks. The spoken word bits for the most part are taken from the previousy released DVDs.

Here’s a live performance of Carry on Jon from Birmingham 2017:

Svante, someone must have simply misheard/garbled the lyrics of this particular bunch of diehard Purple fans here …

I’d like to see/hear Ritchie having conversations with David Coverdale and some of his rock buddies. Candy could record them. I’d love to hear some of the stories and funny memories. Maybe get Roger Glover and Ritchie on the horn reminiscing about DP/Rainbow days and catching up. What a lot of us fear is this YouTube site is going to turn into another Blackmore’s Night crooning session. Nothing against that, but I’d wager that Ritchie has thousands more hard rock fans than renaissance/folk fans. He’s catered to renaissance fans and Candy’s music style for 25 years. It only seems fair that he not forsake rock fans under the mistaken notion that we all want to hear volume-10 headbanging noise over the subtle brilliance of Pictures of Home, Sail Away and Weiss Heim.

They should have ceased the youtube channel right there at Blackmore’s introduction to it, before it went any further. Blackmore’s take on it is comical & says it all. Just don’t forget to send in your hard earned & all will be fine & dandy. Cheers.

I can’t wait for the incoming live streams from medieval fairs in the US of A, that core habitat of medieval life and culture. As good as Native American summer fantasy camps in Europe, I tell you!

Has this old man settled his differences with his former DP band mates?
I mean…there has not been any 1968-1976 archive release for a decade now. It’s an absolute disgrace.

I’m sure Roger is working on a comprehensive rerelease of all tracks with alternative Ritchie solos that were discarded at the time!

Love Ritchie, but this is gonna be a train wreck. 🚂…………🚑
