I ain’t pretty and my legs are thin

Another criminal video clip — cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Oh Well premiered on November 5, 2021.

The label and management swears that nobody from the band or crew, nor members of the media, were hurt during the production of this video.

There is also an audio only single:

I always loved this song but now even more. What a great job the boys do on it.
It’s great to know that the band can still produce such a brilliant sound. Can’t wait for the release date.

This is no less than friggin’ brilliant.

At this rate they can do covers for the rest of their collective lives if you ask me (no one ever does).

Ian following John McCoy’s giant footsteps almost four decades later, who’d have thought …

How does a band in studios continents apart come up with something as inventive and together as this? A cover album would not have been my choice in a perfect world, but I guess that one from DP in this kind of form will just about do. Well, it will do pretty well, in fact! Certainly better than the alternative … which I guess is nothing. What I really enjoy is that it is different from the original and yet somehow retains its innate character. Much better than the covers on the recent Ezrin albums which I find a bit throwaway.

I like it. It sounds like 70’s Purple.
I had my doubts when I heard it was going to be a covers album. After hearing these two songs Iam doubting no more. They have done it again.

Only Deep Purple can take a cover song and make it sound……. Like a Deep Purple Song! This is really TOP SHELF STUFF. Gillans vocals… Majestic.. Steve Morse… What a Top Guitar solo just mesmerising, and his cool chops at the end remind me of The aviator or even Just a Touch away. Roger.. Rock Solid as ever Paicey just effortless and Don magnificently cool. I cant wait for this album to come out. Brilliant work!! Really want to hear them Smash WHITE ROOM!

DP just continues to amaze me. Still rocking after all these years. Not to mention recording new music. Brilliant!!! Is there a harder working band? Not likely. Cheers DP. So happy I was able to see you twice in concert. You Rock!

I like their version of 7 an 7 is … that’s just brilliant.
This version they made of Oh well doesn’t do it for me. I don’t like it.
The movie… Nice Ford Transit… and that’s all I will (and can) say about that.

    Next!

I am not sure anyone noticed but there is one more song released on Tidal (and maybe on other streaming platforms). It’s called Rockin’ Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu. Nothing special – typical Gillan rock’n’roll. Reminds me a bit of Purple People Eater from Gillan/Glover project.

    Blair says:

Yes its available via Qobuz too, I quite like the rock’n’roll vibe. Love the few bars of SOTW!

    Marcus says:

I must admit I wish they had recorded all of part II, not just the bit before the fade.

    Boswell's Johnson says:

I’m digging the synths Don used on this and the other song. They really tie the room together.
