Another heavily edited (vocal-wise) live performance from my hero 🙁

What I’ve seen on YouTube so far his vocal performance is frightening worse than before.
The Band is fantastic, some great singers there, so that the audience gets a somehow decent show.

Unfortunately I also have to say that he really should call it day and retire …

@Mathias what do you seriously expect to hear from 70y young vocalist? Traviata range? Covs sounds good and as expected. Nobody goes to see the gig expecting his range hitting sky high notes of 40y ago. Hello. But his energy and charisma are still unparalleled. Together with the remarkable array of musicians on stage, the show is not decent but f brilliant. That said I would love to hear live an acoustic bluesy output in coming years from the man. He’s got beautiful mid to low range and sound of voice to die for. No need to scream or prove anything anymore…

I was lucky enough to see Whitesnake in their heydays at Monsters of Rock Donington 1981..me a 20 yrs old bugger…Slade…Blackfoot…AC/DC…and my Whitesnake in its all star line up…what a show…what an experience…what a day…and I still take power from that event…these days’ Whitesnake is entirely different and any artist has the right to go on and be creative and develop…myself as a consumer have the choice to follow or not…I don’t want to cross anybody but since the 1987 album Whitesnake just isn’t my cup of tea anymore…still…long live rock and roll in times of Ed Sheeran and Justin Timberlake (again I don’t want to be mean)…keep on rocking from Graz, Austria where I saw Deep Purple for the first time on April 3rd 1975 and I still got my ticket and the official flyer…

I’ve watched the 3 songs on SKY and the quality of the filming and sound mix was great. Although Reb looks bored the band sound great and the new songs sound epic. The vocal arrangements help DC considerably on these new songs and he mostly sounds fine, especially on Hey You which sounds epic live. This is a good performance from a man closing in on 70. Its that simple.

I don’t expect him to have the voice he did on Stormbringer, Northwinds or Come and Get It, but IMO and he is my 1st or 2nd favourite vocalist of all time, his live voice has been poor post Slide It In. I know he had some severe vocal problems/operations pre the 1987 album and I think this is where and when his voice really started to change from that beautiful and rich bluesy tone, to a more high pitched yelping hard rock tone.
