Yet another remaster

In Rock album art

According to the Uncut magazine, Rhino will be re-releasing purple vinyl editions of In Rock and Fireball on November 23. Both albums are said to have been newly remastered by Andy Pearce and Matt Wortham from the original analogue tapes, and have been cut at half-speed by Barry Grint at Alchemy Mastering.

Thanks to Uncut and BraveWords for the info.

The song title ” Blood From A Stone” springs to mind !
This remix,remaster,re-release treadmill has to stop.

Let’s hope we get something decent to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Those Universal “purple vinyl” releases were bright red with photo-copied sleeves : )

The Roger Glover 25th Anniversary Remasters were great.

You’re still struck in old school thinking. When labels celebrate something, you get a record, they get your money. Please don’t whine about it.

Met dit album koos Deep purple devinitief voor de hardrock … Iedere rechtgeaarde rock liefhebber moet dit rockalbum in zijn muziek voorraad hebben …

They should leave the albums as they are, for crying out loud. Leave them as they are, that’s how they got famous, how they stood the test of time, how they became iconic and legendary. Just.because.they.way.they.are.
But, as mentioned before, they do that not because of any “additional value” or anything. The only reason is to have something to cash in again and the common “old-school” (and often naive) fan sure as hell buys just anything that is held before his nose. They know this, of course …

Hi Hans Van Sunder (#7) : Het is waar, maar met een goede editie is genoeg. De editie van de 25 jaar waarvan ik denk dat de beste q tot nu toe is uitgekomen (dat komt met de handtekeningen van de leden in het pakket)

@: Sal, I totally agree! Had the album on Vinyl and on the first CD release. When I bought the anniversary edition I expected nothing new, but wow… what a difference!

Keep on rockin’ and have a nice Day!

#4. Everything about this website, this band, and this fan-base is proudly old school in the best way possible.
