Johnny’s Band Video arrives

A video has arrived at n-tv in Germany for Johnny’s Band, the second third ‘first to have an actual video’ single from the new album InFinite. This single was heavily played on the UK’s BBC Radio 2, making song of the week, earlier this year.
Just remember, as per Call of the wild, Deep Purple just don’t do videos…..

No doubt it will appear on YouTube soon, but in the meantime you can enjoy the video here

    Rajaseudun Rampe says:

DP making videos? Don’t understand. It’s a sign. This must be the end. Of the world as we have learned to know it. I get my coat.

    Thorsun says:

Do I see well that it’s Steve Balsamo playing the young version of Johnny the Singer? Man, how did he got ‘that’ gig???
Mixed feelings on the video itself, but it surely meets the editorial from the lyrics!

    Tim says:

    Very nice.

I’m sure everyone will be going through this in detail picking up all the references.

Most a bit more subtle than the spagehtti hoops…

    Thubderhawk says:

A great nod to the spaghetti incident between Blackmore and Gillan is hidden in the video.
A very fitting video for a great classic Purple tune.
    I love it!!.

Better songs on album to do vidio.

  15. 15
    Rajaseudun Rampe says:

Well well well, had to see the video. Boy, it was boring. If the song is mediocre, the video is below zero. It’s not even funny, in any way. Don’t want to see it the second time. Better to forget that they ever released this video. It is below all standards. So sad.

    Wiktor says:

    Loved the spaghetti scene…LOL…Great!!

I’m enjoying the new CD, but this was my least favorite songs. The video really good and sheds some light on the song, One of the better music videos I’ve seen and it really picks the song up for me.

Sir Blackwood Richmore @ 5 – I was only thinking about Tracy & also DeeperPurps the other day & how long since I have noticed a comment from them both! We hope they are both still in Purple land! Cheers.

@27 MacGregor, hmmmm, well Bruce Wayne & Batman could never appear in the same room together… & when Bruce Wayne was off sick, then so was the Batman….. Hmmmmmm… Are you thinking what I’m thinking?….
Then stop it immediately or you’ll go blind!.
    Smiles to ya,

Not surprised to see Steve Balsamo in the video. He worked with Jon quite a bit and has contributed to The Sunflower Jam, so I imagine he’s friends with Paicey and his wife.

    Blackwood Richmore says:

    Jonny Lord’s band…

  33. 33
    al says:

@ 9 oh yeah ,,,the never ending “critique” of this tragedy that is happening, with the band making low budget
video of one of their songs!! Jesus, give it a rest will you?! have you even heard the whole album,or you are one of those stuck to the “no Blackmore,no Deep Purple” kind of fans?! seriously knock it off,it is ridiculous!

  34. 34
    Rajaseudun Rampe says:

@33 Al, I have heard the whole album, and I like it very much. Some absolutely great songs in it. I surely hope they will ho back to studio once again, since they are able to produce top quality music. And no, I am one of those stuck to the “no Blackmore,no Deep Purple” kind of fans. I very much like Mr. Morse’s playing and role in the band. The band is in top form today, if I am asked. I even go to see the band twice this year, in Madrid and Helsinki. I love them guys. It just happens that I don’t like the video. Ok, it’s a joke. But I think Johnny’s band is the least good (what’s that?) track in the album.
I have no intention to offend you or anybody.

  35. 35
    Rajaseudun Rampe says:

Correction to my previous post: …. “And no, I am NOT one of those stuck to the “no Blackmore,no Deep Purple” kind of fans.” …
