yeah, David knows how to release a proper Annyversary Edition

    Roberto says:

I always thought it was released in 1990 and not 1989…by the way it’s an excellent album, as good as 1987 in my opinion.

I’m surprised by the re-release of this album in this deluxe edition…I never considered it to be a particularly good LP – time for a re-evaluation, I think.

It’s always nice to see old albums being brought back to life in this way, with lots of unreleased stuff – I wish Purple would get round to re-releasing reunion/later albums like House Of Blue Light, Slaves And Masters and The Battle Rages On in this way.

There must be plenty of alternate mixes and live video kicking around, I’m certain. The Purple story isn’t really complete without it!!

I would have to say that the Latest Whitesnake album “X” is a very close followup to “Slip of the Tongue”. I have always loved the tune ‘Judgment Day’ and am glad to see this get the Primo Treatment.

Whitesnake and Judas Priest are scheduled to be in my neck of the woods on July 22. Pretty stiff ticket prices though. $75.00. Adding Ticket Master ‘convenience fees’ brings it up to $82.00. $164.00 for me and my wife is a little steep…..may not make this one….but then, I have never seen Judas Priest Live before so maybe…..

    Cheers

The same thing over and over again….instead of a live DVD with the whole MOR 90 performance + bônus and the CD album remastered , lets offer two tracks, save something for the future and get some more cash from an acoustic set that also should be whole released apart….

I don’t know but it kills loyal fans that potentially will ‘download’ the two tracks for curiosity, and possibly will not get any importance for ‘new’ fans….it s destinated to die at ‘best buy’ racks in 3 months or so…

Both, 1987 and SOTT was already offered as digital as possible (‘DDD’) recordings at the time…remastering is just a matter of taste so you can hear a subtle guitar or chorus (would Glenn Hughes back vocals be audible this time ? certainly not….) so it s a waste of time, money and effort.

David should offer new goodies, brand new, instead of’N-thousand ‘Best Of’ both studio and live works….and a better producer/manager too.

Release all the stuff properly like his great archive with Tokyo 88, Donington 90 , Rock In Rio and Super Rock Japan 84….great sound an performance and give the fans a chance to buy one recording a time….for all…once…not to mention the 80’s recordings, much better in quality, musical and technically speaking…

But we shall thanks for Edel not being behind that or in 3 months we would have the Re-reamatered SOTT with an acoustic chat and Davids comments as bonus in beetween tracks….and fireworks from MOR90 in the end…

    Stupid…

Hey guys, I also thought about it, it’s actually around 7 hrs drive for me one way, But I guess I’ll go to see them Whitesnake that is at Cincinnati, Only hope that they get more than a 50 min set. I will get seriiously PO’d if their not given at least an hour or 1:20 min show, first time seeing them with Beach and Aldrich, very talented guitarists, those 2, anyway I’ll also give review. Cheers BP

I m ALMOST HAPPY that I m not really motivated any more to see bands like Whitesnake.
    So much money. Pfoehhhhhhhh
And I thought people like Tracy were kinda wealthy compared to me.

VERY HAPPY I saw them in 1983 with REAL musicians like Lord, Powell and Gally instead of cartoonoutfits like these.

THE PAIN of knowing he can be so wonderful with his own true deep voice and combined with suitable music.

Well, enough of this and some more yearning by looking at coloured vinyl items of for example a MULTI COLOURED vinyl of INROCK.
    Yabba dabba doe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I m not whining
    I m not putting on a show!!!!!
    Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NO NO NO!!!!!!!

    Good day to ya all

    Sami says:

Good day to you too, Priest…keep a positive outlook on life.

About the topic: Slip of The Tongue is still crap 🙂

    Cheers

    purplepriest1965 says:

    Hi Sami

    Thank you for your empathy

    I do mean BOTH statements….

1 I m a very passionate DP fan but at the same time they make me sad with their judgments, decisions, and so on. Such a waste of potential.

2 I have MANY interests outside DP, both musical and NON musicaL.

Sometimes I felt inclined to think it was me or my melancholy tendencies that make me think a certain gig, cd or effort by DP and company was not top notch.

But I very often can get very excited by other artists, things and so on.
    So……..

Right now I m enjoying, amongst other things, FOREIGNER Live at Deercreek 1993
Awesome and when something makes one wanna stand up and shout and move about its GOOD!!!!

Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

Funny how ‘Birds of a Feather, Flock together’…..

Been a Whitesnake fan since their conception, like the Purple fan that I am….

Seen all the ‘Lineups’. Bought all their records.

It’s all been good. Even when Bad, it’s been Good. Better than the others. Otherwise I’d have Been Gone. But as Bad As It’s Been, please give me an example of something better….

No, not from the PAST…..but from the PRESENT.

    CHEERS,

    TH

    Hi Tracy

Think I forgot what that first saying meant.
    Cabn you refresh my mind?

    I will refresh yours now

I do like lots of contemporary stuff.

    Like

    RIVERSIDE

    Kamelot

Lucette Van Den Berg, Dutch classically trained singer singing Jiddish

Most of Glenns output, he has really given people value for money after his troublesome period.

I think I can appreciate Heaven and Hells effort lately

And, perhaps stressing wour view on me, I have turned round a bit thuis week and rediscoverd my LOVE for J S Bach and Chopin

The bliss , the grandness, cast in stone.
