    purplepriest1965:

Ritchie Blackmoe replacing Steve Morse in current DP lineup, is just a bad dream, utopia. RITCHIE WILL NEVER REPLACE STEVE. Returning of Ritchie will kill the band creatively. Ritchie hasn’t any musical ideas himself, listen to Blackmore’s Night – it’s just pop-folk. Thousands of albums are realased in pop-folk. Ritchie is nolonger able to say any new word in music, even is pop-folk music. Listen to Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – he’s the vital voice, new word for pop-folk, NOT Ritchie. RB is died as musician! Deep Purple is still alive. So, dear DP members, don’t include died people in your lineup, or he’ll kill you all.

Come on now. Where’s the respect for Don. This isn’t about another lineup change or Purple album. I’m interested to hear what a solo recording from Don sounds like given his experience in Purple and his own considerable talent.

    stoffer says:

looking forward to Don’s new album, also to DP new studio (if and when) and also to those who insist on DP family reunion for the 40th ain’t gonna happen! would be awesome, but ain’t gonna happen!

    deep lavender says:

It’s funny how any topic on this website leads to a Blackmore vs. Morse ordeal. Good grief…..

Congrats to Don on his new album! What kind of music/style will it be? Any place we can listen/preview clips of the new music? Who are the other musicians performing on it?
I’ve yet to see DP with Don in the band. But if they tour USA next year, maybe I can. I hope they do!

  13. 13
    Ronnie Dio Gaerlan says:

If Blackmore is such as you say. Why does a lot of people respect him. Don Airey going to BN concert. Don Airey remembering Rainbow as one of his most memorable concert. Jon Lord praising Ritchie for his musical competency. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai , Zakk Wylde talking about Ritchie as an influence. Do I need to go further. Deep Purple with Ritchie (HIT), Rainbow ( a HIT), BN still a hit. So Just shut up.

    Tracy Heyder says:

    deep lavender:…..”I THAAAAAAAANNNNKKKK YOOOUU”!!!

This is axactly what I have usually stated on each and every one of these blogs. No matter what the actual topic is, the narrow minded teenie boppers, wind up doing nothing other than bickering about their hatred or love for Ritchie or Steve. Check it out. Just go back over each blog and you will see. It’s like little “Fat Girls” that can’t escape their little boyfriend problem.

This blog is about Don Airey’s new studio album, and yet the “Same Old Song and Dance” becomes the mainstream dialogue, “I hate Ritchie……I love Ritchie…….I hate Stevie……I love Stevie. Let me guess, you all read “Teen Magazine” and have cut out pictures posted on your wall of your favorite “Teen Idol”.

BORRRIIINNNGGGG!!!! I think even the DuBrow stuff that went on for awhile (sorry…not trying to start that up again, just making a point here) was more interesting and controvercial than reading the same old guys writing the same old stuff about the same old guys, while ignoring the actual topic of the blog.

“there’s a light in the sky,
    Something evil is passing by…..”

Don, I look forward to your new work and I’m sure it will be great. Loved “K-2” and also hanging out with you so many times after the many Purple gigs I’ve seen you at. Any word as to who the line-up musicians are?

Let me guess…..the next bunch of entries will go as follows:

“I hope Ritchie plays on it”……”I hope Stevie plays on it”…..”I hope Ritchie doesn’t play on it”……”I hope Stevie doesn’t play on it”……etc.

One thing is for sure……(I know this will get to the wussies all riled up again), “Tommy Bolin and Kevin Dubrow won’t be contributing anything.

    Ta Daaaa…..

    Hey Lavender

STILL not seen Don with DP?!
    How come?

    Do you live on Mars?

  16. 16
    purplepriest1965 says:

    Hi Tracy

    Funny…
The first song which sprang to my mind was a Van Halen (VH II)song when I read “Light in the sky….”

Are you a guy or a woman?
Always thought of it to be feminine, untill Tracy G. joined DIO in the 90’s…

    Never mind…………….

  17. 17
    Tracy Heyder says:

    Hey Priest,

    Even Funnier…..

The song that I was referring to was “Run with the Wolf”, from Rainbow Rising” where the lyrics actually are: “There’s a Hole in the Sky”……

As far as the question “guy or woman”, I’ve noticed throughout the various discussions we’ve all had, I have been refered to both, but as you obviously aren’t sure of, I have withheld the need to clarify. well for those of you interested in solving this puzzle, all you have to do, is search around in the Archives Tour Reviews to read some of my reviews on various shows, with pictures of me and the Purps back stage, hangin’ out.

That should keep you busy. If you can’t find anything, I’ll direct you to one, but you should give it a go. That’s the beauty to having my name……you never know until it’s too late.

So until then, keep on “women……no, not swimmin’……WOMEEEEN!!!!!” (my favorite Gillan song” by the way. That’s why I’m not going there. I can’t imagine being somewhere, where there is no “laughing”.

Let’s see who knows what that last statement refers to……(everyone but Priest. He obviously knows).

    Yup~~

  18. 18
    purplepriest1965 says:

    Yup, I know…………
I also heard RISING way back in 1978, so…………

    I m not bored at all…………..
And too lazy or too uninterested to solve puzzles………
Maybe I ll do that when I m in the home for very old rockers, juggling my wheelchair reminiscencing the days I missed, the days I did not miss, the days I wanted to ………..

  19. 19
    stoffer says:

Tracy I’m also very tired of the same Ritchie vs. Steve junk, this is like you say a blog for our keyboard man Don and his new album. (looking forward to it) Gillan’s Inn is one of my favorite CD’s in a while, we were just listening to Sugar Plum, Trashed and “NO LAUGHING IN HEAVEN” earlier today on the i-pod.

  20. 20
    Wim says:

First of all: let me congratulate Don on his New album. Looking forward to get my hands on it.
Second: Hey people out here what you’re up to, what’s the matter with you, why do you all get so serious about some particular guitarists. Look at the band in it’s perspective and in the proper timeframe. Be realistic. What are the chances that Ritchie is coming back ?????? Sure, Loved the music he made with Purple. But I even liked the stuff they did with Tommy(so what, kill me ?). Steve is at this moment longer with the band than Ritchie ever did. Did they make bad music then (or now) ? Don’t think so. What I’m trying to say is that with every change of personel (so to speak), they seemed to be getting better, more mature. And sure even I do have my favorites among the different Albums, but I always have tried to keep an open mind. I think we’d all do the same, and maybe ………………
    (no I’m not as Leo)

The closest DP has been to me in several years is Dallas, and job demands prevented me from going then. Hopefully DP will tour all the states next year and not just the coastal regions.
So I guess I do live close to Mars, but that ain’t so bad is it? …..”…..we had a lot of luck on Venus, we always had a ball on Mars……”.

    Long Live DP!

The mp3 song on the “Mascot Records” site: “Shooting Star”, sounds really great. Reminds me on “Slaves & Masters”. Great Hammond.

I’m really looking foreward to hear this Don’s new solo-album.

    Robert says:

What a happy start will 2008 have. First there will be the Durham Concerto from Jon Lord, one month later this new album by Don Airey.

What’s next? Let’s hope there will be a 40th anniversary album with new songs and some lovely re-recordings of old songs played the current line-up.
Would love to hear a new recording of Lazy and No One Came.

To me there is always just one Deep Purple and that is the Deep Purple we have at that time. I liked the old line-ups in the old days and I like the current line-up just as much.

  25. 25
    purplepriest1965 says:

Robert, there sure will be a new Blackmore’s Night albums as well?
Glenn Hughes defintely will release at least one album, I m sure………….

I for once hope to receive my VINYL version of “Live In London”Should it not be there already?………….

Deep Lavender, I m ARIES and so I MUST be from Mars……..

Hell, my name is(…) Mark as well and that also stems from MARS………
I ve been told that accounts for a lot of WAR/FIGHTS…

Strangely enough , although it often seems NOT that way, I m this loving and caring man …………..

I do experience a lot of INTERNAL STRUGGLE …….Maybe that’s the WAR inside of me?

    For astrology lovers :

My “other side” is Libra, so maybe that’s not only the reason why I m making myself so bloody tired but am very PEACEFULL as well………

Maybe I should have said this and other things on a BN site, dunno………. Never come there…………Well, seldom……..

(I like the new Candice Night interview, …………although I frowned my eyebrows when she said “RJ Dio fans do not like JLT”. Well, I love all of those singers……………)

I rather stir up something here, hehehe

Btw, Am I wrong or do I see certain posts of me REMOVED?

    That worries me……….

    Really………….

  26. 26
    purplepriest1965 says:

    My Dear Wim

I tried to follow you there…………

I appreciate positive and respectful people.

I am OPEN MINDED as well……………(Since I was about 14 I reached into atmospheres behind things “Classic Rock/Deep Purple/and so on: Classical Stuff like Liszt, Bach, Chopin and so on, Motown, Blues etc))

But………it really sickens me when people try to use the argument of someone one NOT being open minded because they do not like the CURRENT thing, in this case……….
    Well, You know it…….

Why should I HAVE TO like something because IT’s THERE?!

    For example :
Being alone and needing a love, would you go for it if the match was not TRUE? I prefer to stay alone and wait for something more suitable instead of feeling sad ’cause I mix up with something “not fitting”………

Which does not mean I say YOU should not like it as well……..

Yesterday I went to a Mac Donalds to find out why I did like it all those years ago………….
    I definitely felt dissappointed……….
But the house was full of happy children!!!
Why should I say they can’t………enjoy themselves?

THIS REPLY COUNTS FOR EVERY BLOG .

We are so glad there are so many UP TO DATE DP fans who react against endless driveling.

NOW…CAN ANYONE OF YOU CHANGE THIS ‘PURPLEPRIEST-65-LINE UP’ ???

His empty nonsense on every blog becomes unbearable!!!

Wonderful news D.A., and you are as genious as Jon Lord in Purple!!!

  28. 28
    Tracy Heyder says:

    Yeah Priest,

Regarding your constant regurgitation of your obsession with “Liking Blackmore more than Morse” is not aimed at telling you that you shouldn’t express your opinion, it is the fact that no matter which Blog you blunder into, it becomes the same issue, and don’t you think people have gotten the fact that you are a Blackmore fanatic and so be it? You’re like a broken record. The point folks are trying to get across to you, is that the Blackmore/Morse issue is a dead horse that you just can’t seem to avoid beating, no matter what the subject is of each blog you invade.

Hey, I like tomatoes better than potatoes. I like onion rings better than fries. I like smelling farts better than cigarettes. But None of this has anything to with the subject on this blog, which is regards to DON AIREY’S NEW RECORD called Light in the Sky!!

    Get it?

So, go crank up some Candice (I mean) Blackmore’s Night and pull your pants down and shoot a rocket, while you sit and wait for your perfect line-up or love puppy to fall from the sky.

    Jeez

  30. 30
    Svante Axbacke says:

No, “purplepriest”, all of your posts have gone into the blog comments so far. All of them. But if you and Tracy turn every blog post we have on this site to a hate fest between you two, we might have to reconsider our moderation policy.

  31. 31
    ormandy says:

I’m looking forward to hearing Don’s solo album “A Light In The Sky.” Mr. Airey is just as creative as Mr. Lord when it comes to colorful ideas, imo. And I’m also looking forward to a new DeePurple album with Don behind the keys as well.

  32. 32
    Tracy Heyder says:

    Svante I commend you……BUT,

There is no hate here from this end. Just trying to address a constant dribble (that if you will do some research on) which infiltrates into almost every Blog Subject. The Blackmore/Morse…Love/Haters. Mainly Priest. Actually I don’t mind the back and forth with priest, but as I’m sure if you ask the masses here, the never ending Morse Bashing and Blackmore Praising in every Highway Star Blog is the result of Priest here. I just expose the broken record and state the obvious. But then I follow trough and make entries in relation to the actual subject and wish most entries were relative to the subject and not become a “Blackmore Forum”. I’ll bet priest wears tights.

Surely you can see where I’m coming from and hopefully sympathize with the folks here, and the “Chinese Torture”……drip drip drip …..from the water faucet (Purplepriest) that never sounds any different.

    Cheers

    Right you are !Tech. Athenaeum

Purplepriest-65 can put himself perhaps on the you tube and then he can watch and listen all day and night to his own baloney. We can’t do it to anyone to be in a line-up with him.

Deep Purple is loved and on top in whole the world. Of course with the exeption of some tiny spots where such old fashioned men live!

Fantastic news Don, we buy it right after the examinations!

    Rascal says:

I wonder how many here are actually bothered if Tracy is male/female?

Priest, Id much prefer to read about who’s best…..Blackmore/Morse, than listen to the constant ‘regurgitation, repetition and judgement’ that issues from the blinkered mind of the above individual.

  38. 38
    purplepriest1965 says:

Svante, I already found out I concluded too hastily that I was being erased. I apologise………..

Svante, It’s kinda new to me I have this “thing” with Tracy………..

    And HATE?
    I hate nobody here…………

I think YOU should read more carefully then.
You are now mingling in “something” where I think you should stay impartial…………

Again : WHERE IS THE HATE?

    Not here…………..

The remarks above seem more venomous than the things I usually write.

If one(…)ONLY sees my negative remarks about whatever, I can’t help that……
Other people have noticed there’s more to my writing than that…………..

I really can’t agree that I m the only one who keeps getting back to the issue you despise………..

    Mainly then?
    Ermmmmmmmm, I dunno………..really……….
I observed a difference between this and other DP fora………
    That’s TRUE.

Maybe this is not the place where one can speak out one prefers…………..ahem, a certain line up?

Maybe I should refrain(Yeah, I know I said that before)from posting here so that that the rest(Well, I think “a certain group of people”)can indulge in their own opinions?

    YOUTUBE?

“I could have been a dreamer”?) You are right, that would be cruel…….
    Espescially because I don’t have a WEBCAM installed…………
    Yet……….

    TIGHTS?

I often have ‘heated debates’ about the ‘unmentionable issue’ with Priest, so what? I may disagree with his ‘passion’, but his musing are interesting and observant.

Lets face it, some of these blogs need ‘spicing up’ abit.

I guess it is pointless to make a point. Nobody reads what the point is. Me and priest have had this “Tit for Tat” a few times before. And all i have been stating is that he uses every blog to push his Morse Bashing, no matter what the subject.

Sami:….How can you read the same old dribble about Blackmore being better than Morse from the ssame guy, no matter which blog you go to and call that “Interesting” and not “Boring”? How many times do you need to read that for it to sink in?

seven 47:….You are correct!!! But I am a “Free Lancer”.

Rascal:…..”Spicing up”? Reading repeated dribble about how great Blackmore is, over and over again? that’s spicing?

Hey Priest……speaking of YouTube. You can check out my band “LOzT CAUz” Playing Warpigs. That would be me playing Drums and Singing. Just go to YouTube and type in “Warpigs by LOzT CAUz”.

I always like watching live bands. Strong performance.

It’s also interesting to “meet” people and put a face to the posts. People are almost always nothing like what we imagine, which is a part of the bickering problem since we’re anonymous. Getting to know something about someone helps a lot.

I suppose we all have preconceived notions about a lot of things.

    Nice job. I enjoyed that.

I didn’t think so Rascal. Seems all you have the capacity to do is name call and get all “Spicey” repeating the SOS. A reply of substance would be worthy, but you actually did reply and said nothing.

No Reply Required. Now, has anybody. But since you seem only get enjoyment (or Spice) from the bickering of which musician is better than who, let’s at least gear it towards the subject of this Blog.

So……I put the ball in your infantile court and give you something you can bash around with Priest for a while:

Don Airey or Jon Lord. Which is your favorite. Now, go ahead and have your good old time telling everybody your personal likes and dislikes regarding these to Masters of the Keys. Oh we all can’t wait to read the important opinion you share regarding your personal taste.

    Ho Hummm……

  50. 50
    Tracy Heyder says:

Hey T:…..I tried to respond to your comment on YOUTUBE regarding the camera situation, but I can’t figure out how to respond. So I guess I’ll do it here. Only one camera was used. Our Bass Player also is working into the film industry and my daughter videod that whole gig. He then took various angles of other parts of other songs and spliced in the different views. If you pay attention, you can see the sound doesn’t match sometimes. That’s the spliced in parts. We also did Smoke on the Water, and hopefully will get that put out also.

    Cheers,

    I guess I’m just a “LOzT CAUz”.

    nuff Said.

  55. 55
    Tracy Heyder says:

Seven-47:…..Without listing the whole set list, in summary we did tunes such as “Black Magic Woman”, Summersong from Satriani, Godsmack stuff, Metalica, Skynyrd, SRV, G&R, Velvet Revolver, Sabbath, Purple, Zeppelin, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Drowning Pool, Alice Cooper, STP, Pearl Jam, The Doors, Steppenwolf, ZZ Top, KISS, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Grand Funk, Cream, Bush, Alice in Chains, to name a few. We also do some original Blues improvizations and we are working on 2 kick ass originals, but we have never played them live.

I’m not sure this fit’s into the Don Airey subject, but you asked.

And as for Mr. Airey……….I’ve been watching him throughout the years, play with the greatest musicians on the planet, and he alway puts his mark on the effort. Whether with Ozzy, Rainbow, Gary Moore or whoever, he always shines through and we are blessed to have him be the one to completely fill the shoes of Purple’s own Mr. Lord. He has done so with the respect he deserves and has given yet another edge to this great band.

May 2008 be as great a Purple Year as 2007!!!!
