Roger Glover signature bass
Vigier Guitars has released the Excess Roger Glover signature bass. The bass features an Excess alder body with a maple top, phosphorescent dots on the fingerboard (available in rosewood or maple), phosphorescent contours around the knobs and a brand new three-band EQ electronic designed by Glockenklang amplifiers. October 18th, 2006 at 14:08Vigier Basses are expensive to start with, but they are a small company that handmakes all there products, so the cost reflects quality. If anyone deserves this kind of bass its Mr.Glover

I’ve owned a few Vigier basses and they are quite simply the best basses you can buy (and believe me I’ve tried a few!). As Dan says, they’re handmade in France & are very hard to come by – look on eBay occasionally but it’s testament to their quality & sound/versatility that they come up so infrequently.
The Roger signature is based (no pun intended!) on their entry-level bass, the bolt-on neck Excess (all their other basses are thru-neck), but with many more extras.
It’s sad that you can’t really get hold of them. The UK only has one distributor (Percy Priors) & they’re as useful as a hatstand might be to a moose. Still, I keep looking on eBay!! I think the UK price would be around £2,000, but of course it’s difficult to tell. Whatever they charged might well be worth it!
