Cold spirits of ice

stowe_Horizons_2026

Here’s a bit of the trainspotting boogaloo. The property known as the Horizons in Stowe, Vermont, has been renovated into a posh second home and was a subject of an extended exposé in the Stowe Magazine, issue Winter-Spring 2025/2026. For all your interior decorating tips of the historic venue, kindly proceed to the online version starting on page 208.

Thanks to George M. for the heads-up.

Nice to see behind the bar is a framed copy of the Perfect Strangers artwork!

I was living about 50 miles north of Stowe, Vermont and was actually roaming around the area in late May / early June of 1984 when the Purples had first arrived there – unbeknownst to me. Probably best that I didn’t know that my favourite band of all time had taken up temporary residence in my neck of the woods at that particular time, as I might have been apprehended for stalking!! 😁

Here’s a link to a great article from a local paper The Vermonter which goes into detail about the Purps’ time in Stowe in 1984……………https://www.vermonter.com/deep-purple-vermont/
