Medieval is the best

If you thought the au naturel cover of Child in Time was fun, check out this one. As one of the youtubers has put it

Wanted to see them in Uppsala summer of 1258, but I couldn’t find a spot to moor my longboat. Damn !

The band is called Stary Olsa, they are from Belarus, and the cover of Child in Time also appears on their Medieval Classic Rock album that can be purchased via bandcamp.

I hope our beloved Ian Gillan doesn’t listen to this or he might get constant nightmares.

It’s been a few years since I last saw these videos on Youtube. I thought they were good & I remember showing the CIT video to my brother & how he got upset with me for it…. I guess he prefers the sounds of Loreena McKennitt!.

I’m sure Blackmore would love this if he heard it. Probably has. Here is another great cover that I love.

Ritchie would absolutely love this. I wonder if he’s heard it? This might give him and Candice ideas…

That cover would have been better as an instrumental

I listened to the whole album. I know, but for full disclosure I really like bands like Apocalyptica and Rodrigo y Gabriela would love for them to do some Deep Purple. I like this sort of thing with hard rock/metal done as instrumentals on non-rock intruments and I like to play along with my djembe or dumbek drums.

So I enjoyed this album of covers except for every moment that the horrible vocalist sang. Would have been so much better pure instrumentals like they did with Teen Spirit.

I think I’m going to listen to In-Rock today to reverse the damage
