A little milk and one sugar, please

A relatively rare glimpse behind the curtains of how the band works during rehearsals. This clip is from a studio showing the band preparing for their appearance on the Australian TV show Hey Hey It’s Saturday in 1999:

…And the performance itself:

I remember that show. It was fun. Red Symons calling the band out over a supposed previous loan of a few dollars… Then suggesting it was a different version of the band that had taken his dough…. All the other guitarists joining in with the smoke riff… A happy event!.

Oh, that brings back some lovely memories of the ABandOnTour. The concert which was released from their show (in Melbourne I guess), April 1999, including Gillan’s downunder documentary, is still a gem to me. The band was on fire and it’s so great to see Jon here. When I watch those videos from the past, for a few seconds, it’s as if Jon had never left. If it wasn’t for that f***ing cancer he would be still here … He won’t be forgotten!

Things are really slowing down with Deep Purple thease days , as evident with this site……such a shame, but i can see that all things great must change. I still have all those memories of this great site. Thank You…..Love Buttockss.

Remember it because Billy Bragg was also on promoting his album Mermaid Avenue. What a great show.

Red Symons wanting money from Purple comes from the fact that when mark four did a festival in Australia they were the only band to get any money and the other bands, including Red’s band Skyhooks felt ripped off
