Doogie White with Demon’s Eye tribute to Jon

European tribute band Demon’s Eye has teamed up with Doogie White and performed a tribute to Jon Lord in Balver Höhle, Germany. This is how Concerto for Group and Orchestra sounds like …without the orchestra:

Keyboardist Florian Prtisch and guitar player Mark Zyk were definitely inspired that night.

Thanks to Karl-Heinz Baier and Yvonne Osthausen for the info.

Amazing! Such a fitting tribute. Since 1999 I always thought Purple could include parts of the 1st movement or the blues part of the second one in their live show.
Anyway, Demon’s Eye are great: their “Stranger Within” album is one of the best purple related albums of recent years and I hope they go on with a second one!

Nicely done. Quite impressive performance by all, but eerie indeed regarding the Keyboard player. Very Lordish if I may say. I’d vote him in if don Airey left the band for sure.

    Cheerz?

Loved the Concerto exerpt but became unexpectedly “Choked up” when Doogie began to sing Pictured Within. The rock world just doesn’t see right without Jon…
