From Jesus to Darwin
Some time ago Ian Gillan appeared on The GTFM Rock Show and that episode aired on August 13, 2026. He spoke (mostly) about his upcoming next year Talking Gib’rish tour. The interview is contained within the second hour segment of the 3-hour show, to which you can listen here:
The whole show is also available on the GTFM player, where it is free from the fast-forward limitations of the Mixcloud free tier, but we can’t embed that source here.

Sorry Ian, oasis fans didn’t enjoy DP filling their shoes and lots of people left the festival and it’s nothing to do with your music but when you order lemon Meringue and you get a black forest then you don’t feel happy.

The thousands of old fans that pay big bucks to see their favourite band deserve a bit of respect and recognition.
But we still love you.
Peace ✌️

September 4th, 2026 at 23:41As soon as the news broke—and given that I can’t stand Oasis—I was doubly happy to snag a ticket to see Purple instead!
At the German gig deputizing for Oasis they did quite well, apparently the Oasis fans didn‘t go apeshit, but watched and listened with benevolent interest even if they would have likely preferred to see The Verve or The Stone Roses or something similar akin to Oasis. I think it was brave for DP to do and the German Oasis fans showed mostly an open mind.
Would it have worked the other way around or would only Karin remained on the field to cheer those, uhum, younger men from Manchester? We‘ll likely never know.
DP stepped in at very short notice, but if I had been them, I think I would have encored with some Oasis song I would have learned in a hurry. I would have loved to hear this from DP, I think both Ians could have done a fine job with it …

But I guess, I GUESS!, the reason the Oasis fans were so nice was they listened to some first class rock!
However, had we – fans of Purple – to make do with Oasis instead of Purple (no matter what Mark we’re talking about) I guess even I, who really enjoy listening to Oasis, would have booed a bit 😫
September 7th, 2026 at 09:47s soon as i hear the word Oasis , i want to puke!
September 9th, 2026 at 14:00I assume that the Bros Gallagher prefer that reaction of yours, AL, to you being noncommittal about them! 😂
Noel and Liam are in their own special way adult entertainment.
