Yep, we know
Classic Rock reviews the latest Made in Japan remix. Incredibly for the publication, it contains no information we haven’t known from elsewhere, and the whole review boils down to just one short paragraph:
Incredibly, Wilson has revealed subtleties hidden for more than 50 years. And with the source sets from all three nights newly remixed by Richard Digby Smith, this is Made In Japan not only expanded, but also supercharged. No edits, no overdubs, just the real deal.
The rest is available on Louder Sound (but probably not worth the bother).
MOJO’s coverage is equally disappointing. It is what it is…
I read this bullshit over hyped garbage. No overdubs??????????????? Another review that I read never even mentioned that one of the reasons that the live album is known as a ‘holy grail’ of live albums, IS because it hasn’t been messed with at all. They are trying to dress it up with all the bells and whistles and fairy floss goo. Oh well, marketing again eh. “Welcome back my friends to the show that NEVER ends, we’re glad you could attend, come inside, come inside”. “Come inside, the show’s about to start, guaranteed to blow your head apart, rest assured you’ll get your money’s worth, it’s the Greatest show in Heaven, Hell or Earth.”
August 14th, 2025 at 22:00As per usual, never breaking from tradition, that pathetic rag called Classic Rock Magazine – a.k.a. Louder Sound can’t be bothered to cover Deep Purple in any meaningful way except to trot out rehashed, warmed-up old news about the band. To be expected from that woeful excuse for alleged rock journalism….why is that you might ask!? It is truly a Zeppelin fan-boy magazine with AC/DC coming in a very close second in overall coverage, ad nauseum, month after month, year after year. What say ye Valhalla?
