Not sure about CA breed. Production by Dave Cobb sounds like K Shirley to me. Songs might be ‘Growers’ but being a drummer it sounds like the cymbals are choked. Not bright and lively like they should be. BCC’s last one ‘Afterglow had this sound as well. When i first put it on, i was checking treble levels…yep, full up! Sounds like a blanket is draped over the speakers. That or i am listening to it from behind the speakers! Some weird vocal effects and double tracked vocals. Definitely a bit different from Glenn. I would like to hear others opinions.

same here too ! The songs definitely grow on you,on the 2 and 3 listen, but what is with the sound ?! It is messy and muddy, and doesn’t sound better on your headphones.Cannot, hear the instruments at all and I hate that! That’s why I love Now What?! You can hear everything !

I am a huge Glenn fan and really love his funky soulfull music, much hated by visitors to this website. So I was obviously very keen to hear , what this new band/ project would produce, after BCC fizzled out with some good tracks but in my view to much retro 70s rock.

Well I shouldnt have been worried this is an awesome back to basics rough and dirty rock album which sounds like it was recoded live. The best tracks have a stones/primal scream swagger.
Glenn’s voice is in top form with no screaming or wailing, john plays like he is possessed by his fathers spirit and young Andrew is an absolute revelation with his playing no self indulgent solos here.
Can’t wait to see them live.

@10 Agreed about the production, but it’s not just the drums. The production of the whole cd is awful. I wonder if Glenn actually listened to the final mix . Also, Jason is way too busy for some of these songs.Over playing. Try listening to Rod Morgenstein or Ian Paice once in awhile. They have the chops, but only use them when its called for. I am a huge fan of Glenns, but I feel this is a step backward after BCC. I was expecting a better effort. Sorry, but I’m just being honest. Maybe they”ll make some changes for the follow up to the debut. I certainly hope so
