Thanx, I already unlocked my braincells and did click on the RIGHT button.

IMHO the interviews were not mindblowing as well.

Well, hopefully the gig on the 24th will be fine.

    I almost conquered the flue
Hopefully I ll be able to attend the forthcoming gigs of OTR, DIO and MAYBE Alcatrazz without healthproblems.

The fact is, Joe totally contradicted himself on the video mentioned concerning the TBRO tracks. He jumbled his words there for sure… then he says he never said it.

Since interviewing Bobby it will be nice to read this one…

JR is on my feature deck at the moment, we’ll see what he has to say about recording an album when the answers arrive.

We all can agree by now loads of people in the DP family contradict themselves in interviews.

All of them? I’m not sure about that, but I do know several of them do it on purpose just to get the hype flowing. Blackmore is at the top of that short list, Gillan, Coverdale and Hughes, JLT and sometimes even Ian Paice seem to follow… Jon Lord is the only hugely careful one, and even he sometimes contradicts himself too, but I doubt it’s on purpose. I’d like to see some evidence that Roger Glover has ever slipped up in this department. He’s not a hypester.

    when Paice contradict himself?

    purplepriest1965 says:

Hi Roberto for the moment a very funny one, ok?

Paicey said that JLT was not the right singer for DP because JLT came from an Americain pop background while DP come from a British rockbackground.

Why on earth is the choice for an Americain from a NON rock background guitarplayer better?

    That was in words…….

Very often people contradict themselves in behaviour.

Btw, I m guilty of charge as well……

When Roger got the sack around 73 Paicey and Lordy went with it, not saying No, we wont have anything of that

At the end of the 80 s everyone in the band agreed, even Gillan will again and again admit that was to blame and acted like an impossible person to work with, that IG should be sacked.

RB always is blamed but the rest is guilty as well……
They are grown up, strong enough, rich enough to say NO.

Appearant WE all are people who want to live to certain principles, act consistently, but in the end we fail time and again.

Ofcourse some are more consistent than others or it seems that way while are not.

People tend to get weak at certain moments.

Paicey is very consistent in that sense he always was honest when he said….

I dont care who is in the band as long as I can play and make money…..

Although, ofcourse then he should not have said that thing about JLT.

    Roberto says:

“Why on earth is the choice for an Americain from a NON rock background guitarplayer better?”…just because steve morse doesn’t come from an Americain pop background…but from american jazz rock country hard rock background…so I can’t see, in this case, Paice contradiction…but I agree for the rest…

Tracy Heyder aka Zero the Hero says:

I can understand the JLT point by Paicey. Not necessarily because JLT was an American, but because his presence was so over the POP TOP. Being the Frontman puts Stage Presence to focus, and JLT’s presence was very Un-Purple. Again…..nothing to do with his singing. Just that watching him and hearing his between song banter really was hard to swallow, and in communicating with Paicey on a couple of occasions, that is what he had a problem with.

The Morse scenario is completely different. Morse is a Class Act and his style is totally different from TMIB, which is Exactly what the Band Wanted. They didn’t want to do the carbon copy replacement thing as many bands do. They wanted a fresh direction and sound for their future records, but also wanted someone who could do the right thing on the old tunes live. I’d say they succeeded. New sound for sure and to those whom can’t handle the change…..well you know…

    Cheers

    purplepriest1965 says:

For everyone not knowing any better your post seems quite ok, Tracy.

But if there is one who does not have the necessary selfcontrol and is very OVER THE TOP while handling subtle responsibilities its Steve Morse-

  14. 14
    Annemie says:

    Morse a ‘class act’ ???????
In that case, I wonder why he keeps on playing 80% of his proceeder like a cyborg .
And please don’t drop that the fans are asking for this…if he was such a class act in harmony with this current line up, they would just be in preference by the fans with their MK 8 material. Material which is frozen in evolution these days.

    btw …What ‘style’???

  15. 15
Tracy Heyder (aka Zero the Hero) says:

    Please exlain…..to quote you….’me don’t understand’.

One minute you say the fiddler is too suttle and not bold enough, now he is Over the Top….OK Sybil.

    Cheers

    Crimson Ghost says:

    @13

With all do respect, please define his responsibilities, since you seem so obsessed with being in charge of his job description.(if thats anyones job its the band and managements, not yours or ours… things do change, which is probably why they have, if you can handle that much… apparently you can’t, which is likely the biggest problem you have with post-Blackmore Purple, and something I’d say the majority doesn’t mind… majority being not us but the millions who attend the shows every tour they’ve done with Morse)
    ======

Back to Turner, Joe, please tell us what ‘genre’ BN actually is… it’s funny how they debuted at number one and held their mud for 40 weeks on the ‘New Age’ charts when they are as far from ‘New Age’ as it gets. They do not have one song in their entire catalog that can be described as ‘New Age’ music. Anyone who listens to that genre will tell you that. If they charted in ‘Old World’ I’d at least credit them for being much more on the right track then ‘New Age.’ (totally modern space music, not old fashioned campfire music meets Euro-Pop)

  17. 17
Tracy Heyder (aka Zero the Hero) says:

Oh, one more related thing…..the JLT description was by a Purple “Band Member”, Mr. Paice. On the other hand, he has nothing but praise for Mr. Morse. He voted for him to replace the Negative MIB. Now as with the smiley Guitarist, he to is HAPPY. Sorry you find such derogatory feelings toward Happy Bandmates….

    Cheers

    Crimson Ghost says:

    @16

Oops, make that ‘due’ respect, Priest.lol!
As I said, things do change… they don’t stay the same, not for guitar playing or singing or anything else, but you seem to expect things to remain the same night after night throughout an artists entire career or something. That isn’t how human life works, but maybe so for robots.
    Waiting….

  19. 19
Tracy Heyder (aka Zero the Hero) says:

    #14….

A Class Act in the fact that he performs ‘respectfully and tastefully’. He plays 80% you mention here in respect for the Predecessor you speak of….again, a Class Act. Blaming him on the set list is ludicrous. He plays what song is on the list. Exactly how that list is derived is still not completely disclosed, but again, there are (unfortunately for us thorough fans), many more out there whom only know Purple for there Hits from the 70’s and Hush whom are in much larger number at these shows than us ‘Highway Star Bloggers’. You have to look a things through the bigger picture, other than ‘Your little World’. But at least you are in good company….Priest, as I stated elsewhere, “you ay be lonely, but you are never alone”. Looks like you have a new pal….

    Cheers
