DP show in Lebanon postponed

Deep Purple’s scheduled performance at the Baalbeck International Festival in Lebanon on July 27 has been postponed after the Israeli attacks on Beirut. The festival was celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year. Festival organizers issued a statement Thursday to announce that Thursday’s performance was postponed until further notice.

Saw the news headlines this morning, obviously it would be unwise to stage a major festival in Lebanon at the moment, I’m sure DP would love to play there but would anyone be prepared to insure such an event at the moment and obviously peoples safety is the most important issue, but can anyone remember didn’t DP play in Tel Aviv with JLT on the first night of the 1991 Gulf conflict? I’m positive I recall that.
