  • Highway Star

Notes;

(1) The riff from 'Into the Fire' was tagged to the end of this tune
(2) Included bass/keyboard duet as heard in the segue of Beethovens 9th into keyboard solo on Knebworth 85
(3) Included Morse's guitar solo spot, featuring clever use of delayed double tracking for a multiple guitar effect
(4) Someone called out for 'Ace of Spades' during the intro ..... (5) The trading of licks between guitar & organ was absolutely awesome in this tune. I've heard some exceptional stuff between Blackmore/Lord, this was easily the equal of it, if not better....

Morse was very impressive. We had been discussing the Korean TV broadcast on the way to the gig, about the way that the interplay between Morse/Lord and Morse/Gillan sounded as though they had been playing together for years, rather than months. The response was - 'It's because he (Morse) is a world-class musician'

Can't argue with that. Won't argue with it. They're all world-class, and sounded every bit of it last night......

That's all I've got time for just now. If anyone wants any further info on this gig, post a follow-up and I'll see what I can do......
