    Well, if that was the version they released back then, I never would have liked SIFLS.

    This sounds absolutely horrible to me. The guy has some technical skills to be fair, but no timing and no feeling at all. His playing has no flow and all in all it just doesn’t work.

    It’s sloppy and gets worse – nerves I guess because the camera was running, he probably rehearsed this to death – but considering his age he had some nice arrangement ideas. Of course it’s totally OTT, but at his age you are entitled to be.

    It shows what a precise player Steve M is, masterful control of his instrument. Blackers could be both breathtakingly precise AND horrendously sloppy/careless. As the mood would strike him!

    Humble opinions always considered, he is a greatly proficient banjo player, but shredding to show speed doesn’t float my fantasy unless there is beauty in it. Phrasing etcetera. Steve continues to play, with respect to a debilitating wrist, “Tumeni notes”, but each and every one of them are well thought out masterpieces…..
