great show!!

Deep Purple live at Pechanga Theater (Temecula, USA 2019-09-06)

I am so disappointed to be checking the website every day and not see any concert reviews! I saw them opening night in Riverside at the Fox theater, which was a fantastic venue and a great concert. My brother and I saw them up at Pechanga a few nights later and I have to say that the band was even better that night!! Yes, basically the same songs, a few more ad-libs to the otherwise same old Gillan quotes, “You’re sending out some good vibes” which we have heard at every concert for the past 10 years..but, it’s Deep Purple..My Guys.. I have been following them since they opened for Cream on their farewell tour. So if I have indeed seen them for the last time, the Pechanga concert was a hell of a way to remember them…

    Thanks for your review,Annette.
It’s only the 2nd one I’ve seen @ The Highway Star. Who knows why ??
Is interest dwindling,or are folks keeping their concert memories to themselves ??

I’ve been wondering about the lack of reviews, pictures, and video clips from the tour. Good to see some. I’m heading to Minneapolis for the last show of the US tour and what should be our last goodbye.

Better than Riverside? Wow. I was also at the show and it was the best that I can recall in a long time. If it is the last time for me they definitely went out on top! (I did post a brief comment on the tour page after I got home that night) The last time that I saw them was at the Greek with Alice Cooper (out of town for the Priest show) and this show blew that one out of the water. This was the first time that I had seen the opening show of the tour leg and I think that was why it was so good. I have seen them a few times when they had played the night before and I think it showed. I did not even buy my ticket until that morning and there were so many Tix available still. 8th row center and nobody to my left or in front so I could really enjoy myself.
After the Greek show I had commented that I was longing for a Theater tour that wold be a career retrospective with something from each line up (Instrumental medley for MK’s III and IV no doubt, don’t care ‘bout JLT). Well, I got my Theater show at least and it beat the heck out of going to LA and the Wiltern.

me 2 Annette ! completely bewildered as to why this U.S. Tour is getting very little notice. I saw them last month in Orlando Florida & they rocked the house. Small theater, excellent acoustics, Purple sounded really tight & Big Ian was in great voice. yeah, I know, the set hasn’t changed much in a couple of years, but what the hey, it’s the Long Goodbye Tour, who knows if they’ll pass this way again !

I saw them at the Beacon Theater in New York. The reason I left no review is how many times can I say they were great? There always great, the sound was perfect and the house was packed. The only time anyone really needs to leave a review is if they do some songs that they never played before or something unique happens. Hope there back next year when the new album comes out.

Just saw the show in Indianapolis this weekend! Great venue nice and cozy, sound was excellent as was the stage set up (video screens etc..) The band was sharp and very tight almost too perfect, very little audience interaction from IG. All in all very good show, just as good as last year year with Priest and much better than 2 years ago with Alice Cooper!! Casual fans still screaming for Burn and Child in Time LOL, well worth the price of admission. Only thing I would change is the setlist but that aint happenin’…Hope to see them again Long Live DP!!!!

Just saw the last week at the tower theatre in upper darby pa. great venue and the acoustics were excellent. Opening band joyous wolf quite entertaining but when purple hit the stage you know why they are in such an elite class of select bands. Typical set list as recent tours, Sometimes I feel like screaming was one of my personal favorites. Gillan was solid but it seems recent shows have become more of the steve morse/ don airy show. There chemistry is amazing. Steves solo contact lost in to well dressed guitar absolutely blew me away. the sounds he creates are indescribable and very moving. Crowd reaction to perfect strangers in to space truckin was the most animated part of the show. Lots of interaction between steve, roger and the crowd. Encore the same balck night in to hush. Overall great show, most likely my last time sadly. Will always remember this one as my son came along who had just celebrated a birthday.

On a side note from the Indianapolis show we ran into Tracy Heyder and his lovely wife after the show!! We didn’t get to chat long as he was heading to meet the band, but we chatted the next morning and all is well he is a true fan/friend and a LEGEND!!
