What happened at the bar?

Deep Purple are resuming the Splat! tour on September 29 in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Ian Gillan spoke to an outfit from that country called Z-Rock.

We talk about Deep Purple’s new music, inspiration, and the secret behind creating songs that continue to find new fans generations later.
Ian Gillan also looks back at some of the defining moments from nearly 60 years of Deep Purple history – his memories with Ritchie Blackmore, the musicians who have shaped the band’s sound, and the 1969 concert he would love to experience again, this time from the audience.

We also talk about the music Ian listens to himself, how Deep Purple choose their live setlists, the possibility of another autobiography and, of course, the band’s upcoming return to Bulgaria.
