Well said Ian Paice and a nice looking set there indeed. I know what he means regarding the smaller cd booklets and myself and no doubt many others have never loved that reduction in size of the images and words. It isn’t just growing older and needing reading glasses my friends. The original album size is much better and that is why I initially kept my vinyl collection after commencing replacing them with cd. However after a while I had to get rid of them, too much hassle moving and storing them. Ian Paice on the drums, yes. Cheers.

I guess it’s crucial to get that ordered 😊

The wall behind Ian P, that I would like to study closely 🤩

I love the sonic characteristics of CDs, but women do teach us: There are aspects where size matters. You have to come to grips with it.

Even a magnifying glass wouldnt be enough for me nowdays and i wont buy the vinyl cos I aint got a record player..
so I stick with the original Made in Japan..as I said before.. its good enough for me.
    Cheers!

We should rename the site The Highway Grandpa! 😂

Can we have a release of the booklet in braille please?

When blind men cry, there ain’t no sadder tale.

    Georgivs says:

@3 Size matters only as much as it does. Paicey is not the biggest guy in the world, yet his performance is remarkable. I learned from him that what really matters is actively using all your limbs, anticipating what your mate wants from you and playing the right licks.

    #5 LOL!!!

Now I’m confused again Uwe. I always thought it was ‘it’s not the size that matters, it’s what you do with it that counts’. All the good women just roll their eyes when men waffle on about all their inadequacies. Mind you, all the bad women apparently don’t. Not that I would know, as I have lead a saintly life with saintly ladies. Raised as a Catholic don’t forget. Cheers.

That looks very nice indeed, i’m sure the sound of it is very much improved that i might have to purchase.

    Uwe Hornung says:

Yes, Georgivs, being a good rhythm section together is of course key as well. Never forget what the term rock’n’roll originally meant.

All the good women just roll their eyes when men waffle …

They all lie, Herr MacGregor, didn’t you know that? The Catholic ones especially, it’s a survival method to them. And their good actors.

I will not be too strict with you about your apparent ignorance given your limited exposure to them for which you cannot really be blamed under historic circumstances, I gather they were a scarce resource on your island …

@ 11 – good ole Zappa eh? Who else and no wonder he railed against that censorship crap that the government was on about. Even John Denver joined in against that. Being referred to as a drug influencing songwriter (Rocky Mountain High), says it all doesn’t it. Did Frank over do it at times, yes most probably. He certainly did not hold back. Cheers

Well, Russ, I wouldn’t say it was all for nothing, you’re still diligently moving rocks … ☝️🥸

It appears that the Book/Program are the same things that were in the last Box Set (That I was lucky enough to get at release when the CD’s came in an LP sized box).

    Can anyone confirm that?

  15. 15
    Stathis says:

@14 Indeed this is the case.

    Uwe Hornung says:

Mine is due to arrive this week (I received notification it has already been sent), Jerry, I’ll let you know when it’s here (I have the last boxed set too).

On a very prominent person’s facebook page, someone mentioned this:
    https://youtu.be/iwMEILToxwo?si=ymtarX026iZE6oNK

It’s a danish band, Gasolin, that doesn’t exist anymore. But indeed they were great.
In my humble opinion no one can ever be better than Purple, with Ian as the vocalist, but anyway, I would like you to feast your ears upon this gem
    – enjoy 😃

@16….Uwe please let everyone know how the recording sounds better

  20. 20
    Uwe Hornung says:

It will likely just sound different, the 2014 remixes were already pretty good in my view and ears. A lot of preferences for certain mixes are just matters of taste, but yeah, I’ll report.

    David Black says:

MIJ tee-shirt, cap & socks arrived today. T-Shirt is very nice, discrete logo on the front and picture and track list on the back. Socks are thick (not summer wear) with Deep Purple on one ankle and Made In Japan on the other.

  22. 22
    Uwe Hornung says:

Made in Japan? People will now ask where you were conceived, David, and have all these Madame Butterfly visuals in their head. You better come up with a good story. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Coming up with good stories is not an issue 😉
