Equals one
A series of cryptic messages appeared over the past few days on various social media accounts affiliated with the band. They revolve around a new handwritten logo and an elaborate math equation, which (if my calculus serves me right) equals to one.
The timing and style of the said cryptic messages make some people to believe that this is the start of the promotional campaign for the anticipated new album.

I can only speak for myself by saying ‘Show me the money’ as in ‘Show me the material’ so sorry guys I take everything else with a pinch of salt but marketing is a big art nowadays and generate lots of money.

@Uwe #1: I had a meeting with a notary yesterday who was mumbling a contract text to me in a German language which was nearly impossible to understand (hey, and I’m a German mother tongue although with some Swabian accent). But I can confirm that the result is one :-)!

In my opinion the band have been doing the right thing over the past years and decades: don’t give a f… about what record companies, critics, or some of their fans (more accurately: fans of Purple with Blackmore) say they should be (should have been) doing. Instead: play amazing live gigs, write and record great music, keep on touring as long as you gooddamn please (or your body will let you) and have fun!!

2) these are not complex numbers, i j k with hats are unit vectors in cartesian coordinates. magnitude of the resulting vector is sqrt(3^2 + 2^2 + 3) = 4
3) the integral is equal to half of a 2*2 square area = 2
4) this series, more commonly written as (1+1/m)^m, converges to e = 2.718281828…
5) integral of one is the difference of limits, i.e. e-1 (which nicely cancels out the irrationals)
6) this is a geometric series with a=r=1/2, which for |r|<1 converges to a/(1-r)=1
7) this is a 3-by-3 matrix determinant, which solves to (-1)
so, we have:

I advised him to have another go what with many theories being relative.

He preferred more “rough” hobbies like soccer.

Recently I read he had placed stents for his heart.
I wonder aside from walking with Candice through the woods, searching for fairies humming BACH tunes, if or when he stopped playing the demanding soccer activity.
I often heard from soccerplayers having trouble with their knees.
I dont know how Glenn overused his knees but they were replaced, so I read, some years ago and he runs around the stage like that cartooncharactre….
Today some let things like that replaced with titanium new ones. I think Glenns are Titanium as well.
My cousin in NJ /USA who did heavy labour had to replace a shoulderpart, also Titanium.
It seems, something I already heard decades ago in the Gym, shoulders are hard to get back from.
So I assume he has to keep himself within boundaries but I m afraid he is too hardheaded to accept such a thing.
Weird, an old neigbour, RIP Bob , who gave kickboxing et all classes in the park way into his 80 s did have knees replaced but somehow it was of no use to him so he ended up in a scootmobile.
And that after a life obsessed with soccer, kickboxing, lifting weights etc….
Made me hesitate joining his class when I was already struggling with my joints and muscles.
I did swim like a man posessed but still got whipped with pains and then Bursitis.
“Uncle Bob”got way too fat for his own good, lack of movement, and though never having smoked he also aquired that illness related to the lungs. COPD?

April 26th, 2024 at 22:58RV, I actually saw Ritchie play soccer once, in Frankfurt on a day off on the THOBL Tour. The game was for charity. Ian Gillan played too and I think Little Ian and Roger, but not Jon. Blackmore is a good player, but he is what in German we call an “Abstauber”, a goalhanger and poacher waiting for his goal chance like a vulture, but avoiding exhausting leg work! 😅 Big Ian played with great verve and commitment, but zero technique. 😁 (I personally suck at soccer, so really shouldn’t point the finger.)

I’d recommend it to anyone (with a serious knee condition). I was in bad pain and restricted movability before (those bad Hornung-genes as knees go and two bicycle accidents in the 90ies), a keyhole surgery had only helped for a few years (the very good doctor had made me aware of that, he also did the replacement surgery). I’d say that my (artificial) knee in its present state is at about 90-95% of what my youthful natural knee joint could once do, the one relevant impediment is really only walking stairs down (walking them up is no issue), the sideways maneuverability of an artificial knee joint is not the same as of a natural one so it doesn’t work as reliably going downstairs even though it is even then painfree. But other than that I don’t even think about it. Even kneeling on it doesn’t feel weird anymore.
Oh wait, there is one curious effect in winter: When I’ve ridden my motorbike in the cold for a while and my body is really cooled down, then it takes quite a while for my right knee to return to regular body warmth, that metal in it takes longer to warm up than a living bone. But it’s something I’ve grown accustomed to and – always look at the brighter side of things – I can rest a beer can on it and it will stay fresh and cool longer!

Nice story.
I do have bad knees which I in the past knew how to buffer doing weightlifting , legexercises and biked a lot, swam a lot.
PowerYoga once took me from the depths of years in pain.
RSI kind of pains went on for 6 years.
Then I lost almost all of it the year I fell in love(sic)and doing this combination of swimming, yoga, biking, a lot of sauna(No beers allowed)and doing a bit of weightlifting…..
But(Very long story)since 2020 thing went wrong….
Since I hardly move around.
My knees and hernia do not always plague me but inbetween they really drain me.
I m not sure if I ll ever get around to sports anymore, let alone “replacements” of any kind.
