A bit of a hugger

Glenn Hughes was interviewed by Planet Rock at this weekend’s Steelhouse Festival in Wales:

And for no apparent reason, here’s a cover of Highway Star performed by Italian band Black Mamba. Check out that bass solo. This ain’t no Billy Sheehan, but not bad at all:

Thanks to Blabbermouth for the interview heads up and to Akemi Ono for the cover.

Vocals of that cover are incredibly OVERproduced – awful “computerized” autotune sound!

Wonderful Glenn is doing Classic Purple. He sounds much better than in the 70s. Performing on a higher level than other Purples.

Posted that Black Mamba clip weeks ago on the DPFF. Hadn’t heard a fun version of this track for a long time. They also had some other great covers, ao Rush.

Why does the film not open completely or what should I do/click to let that happen?

I was wondering what would happen when it came time for the keyboard solo, since there was no keyboardist. Full marks for the creativity of the solution, and high marks for the execution!
