I was there. 5 rows from the front. It was an amazing night. From start to finish. M.A.s.q.u.e. a Jon Lord piece written as a tribute to Malcolm Arnold was beautiful. Very easily recognisable as a Jon Lord composition. I look forward to hearing this properly recorded. Then we had Arnolds Symphony no 6. An amazing piece of work, one of many of Malcolms outstanding works. Then after the interval The complete Concerto for Group and orchestra. With Jon Lord, Roger Glover, the brilliant Miles Bould on Drums, Andy Cane on vocals and Chester Kamen (who has worked alot with Pink Floyd) on guitar. Kamen seemed under rehearsed but all in all coped quite well although the first movement guitar solo was a little dissapointing. Lord was Lord and Glover as Glover both excellent. Miles Bould seemed to have been listening to Ian Paice drum solos alot recently. If you closed your eyes you would have thought Paicey was up there at times. The whole evening was brilliant. Now if they had just played pictured within at the end I would have been a very happy bunny! And to top it all! Secure Parking 80p & Programme £3. Compare this with going to see Deep Purple at the NEC! Parking £8 programmed anything up to £12. I just hope Jon Lord includes UK on his next tour. I would love to see more of him in this country. In venues like this or Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

I was there too, although arrived just too late for MAsque and had to stand in the foyer until it had finished!wedsite had 7.30 on which I assumed was doors open, but no,that was show time:-(
Enjoyed Arnolds 6th,shades of Holst’s planets suite here and there and a good Jazzy middle section, but the best part was watching Paul Mann conduct,he was really enjoying himself!
The Concerto was great and thanks to Kevins reply above I now know who the musicians were, thought the same, guitar was OK but no more, but overall a thoughly enjoyable,if short, evening…
