Glover, Paice and Lord at the Sunflower Jam

Roger Glover, Ian Paice and Jon Lord will take part in the Sunflower Jam 2007, a fundraising event organised by the British charity Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust. Both Jacky Paice and Vickie Lord are involved with the Trust, so participation of their husbands is almost a given ;). The 2007 Jam is following the success of the Sunflower Jam 2006, which raised £90K, and will take place on Thursday 20th September at The Porchester Halls, London W2.

This years Jam includes Status Quo, Beverley Knight, Gary Moore, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Jon Lord, Margo Buchanan, Paul “Wix” Wickens, Nick Fyffe, Steve Balsamo and Aitch McRobbie.

There will be a champagne reception, a dinner prepared once again by Paul Clerehugh of the Crooked Billet, an auction hosted by Jeremy Irons, a raffle and a few surprises along the way.

If you are interested in purchasing a table for this years event either go to www.thesunflowerjam.com or contact them directly by email or by telephone on 07768 784342.

UPDATE (Aug 11): we’ve been informed that individual seats are also available at £300 each.

Thanks to Jacky Paice and Akiko Hada for the info.

With Glover, Paice and Lord get David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes and the rest and have a mega huge Mk I- VIII concert which will be worth every penny for all the die hard fans.

Oh, that would be the Gig of The Century, Rainer James. It’s a fact though
that none of the previous line-up’s will ever reform…sad, but true. But hey,
we’ve got the current Purple Mk8 keeping the Mk2 songs(& a version of Hush) alive, and Glenn Hughes
    doing a fantastic job with some Mk3 &Mk4 songs…not bad!!(it’s a shame though
that Mr. Coverdale & Ritchie B. aren’t doing any favours to their Purple back catalogue!and what about those great Mk1 songs…)

Whatever…nothing wrong with being hired as a waiter,
    I think it’s honest & hard work.

I just want to say to Lars Wehmeyer that when some people have money and prefer to spend a good night for a good cause, I see no shame. Do you prefer Paris Hilton’s way of life?

    I just prefer Paris Hilton!!

    Rainer James says:

I know there are two bass players, but the two of them would make a great bass solo and of course i didn’t forget the man in black, Ritchie and Steve together on stage trading guitar licks in Strange Kind of Woman and little Ian with that drum beat would be unbelievable.
