Gillan’s live band announced
In a message on Ian Gillan’s official website, the Deep Purple singer has announced the line-up for the backup band on his “Gillan’s Inn” solo tour of North America that starts in August. The band members are:
Randy Cooke – drums
Rodney Appleby – bass
Michael Lee Jackson & Dean Howard – guitars
Joe Mennonna – keys & tenor sax
Unauthorized copying, while sometimes necessary, is never as good as the real thing
Looking forward to seeing Dean Howard and Michael L Jackson….It should be an excellent tour.I just hope it goes over well in the states for IG….
August 8th, 2006 at 01:17I don’t think it will go over that well stateside. At the end they will sit around and wonder what they did it for!!
If I had a few more frequent flyer points I might be tempted to trek across the Pacific to once again hear “The Voice of Deep Purple”.

Same here…looking forwad to back to back shows in NYC and Philly. Lots of nights for IG..hope his voice holds up.
August 9th, 2006 at 21:29It will be interesting to see what songs he does other than the ones that appear on the Gillan’s Inn cd. Here’s a chance for him to do some really great stuff that has not been played in years if ever. A couple of suggestions, Running White Face City Boy, Long Gone,Smooth Dancer, Flight Of The Rat, Place In Line, Future Shock. I would love to here any of these. See you in New York!

AUG-25 IN A SMALL VENUE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE–THE SHOW WAS AWESOME–IAN SOUNDED GREAT AND HIS VOICE WAS STRONG AS EVER–THE NEW STUFF WAS PUT TOGETHER WELL AND ENDING THE NIGHT WITH KNOCKING AT YOUR BACK DOOR WAS A GREAT SELECTION–A PLEASURE TO MEET AND AN ALL AROUND CLASS ACT–ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS SHOW–GO–IT’S A GREAT TIME!!!
