This couldn’t have happened to a nicer human being. I have learned from Ian Gillan’s guitarist Michael Lee Jackson’s myspace page that Rodney Appleby is doing very well (all things considered), has been discharged from hospital and is expected to be touring in Australia as sheduled. Michael Lee suggested wellwishers send Rodney Appleby a message on his own myspace page at the following address:

I played with Gillan’s Inn as the national guitar winner in the “Smoke This” contest. I was backstage doing a last-minute tune and the drum solo was so loud my tuner picked it up and I really messed up the tuning. Rodney asked how things were going, and I told him what had happened. He took me outside literally into the alley so I could tune by ear, which really saved the day for me.

I wish him a very speedy recovery. I am happy to hear he will be able to tour in Australia.

Rodney, I wish you all the best and get well soon. I caught you in Hampden Beach, NH this summer. I spoke with you for a minute back stage and you could not have been nicer. You are a killer bass player, and I hope to see you play again soon.

Rodney,I meet you and “the band’ briefly this summer in Welland Ontario at the Niagara Blues and Jazz society where you featured the “choir” with Wynetta McElveen. It was during the break and I was backstage if you can call it that (outdoors) behind the stage.

I looked for your website on Google and your my space page didn’t show up..hopefully this gets to you. If you ever come over the “ditch” to Canada again I’d like to know. Take care …all the best to you. And thanks to the person who is forwarding this to you.
