Meditation Above and Beyond
A guitar signed by all members of Deep purple was offered as a prize in the Above and Beyond cover art contest. While we don’t know if the winner got a guitar, a Dutch artist Anna Schat-Vanger, who came second, has got one. Her submission was a painting called Meditation (pictured above), which was based “on her information about the song and her personal inspiration.”

October 13th, 2013 at 13:10Nice work but I believe it’s a bit unfair she got rewarded for submitting a painting she did in 2008, and therefor couldn’t have been inspired by “above and Beyond”.

October 15th, 2013 at 19:08I really love this painting. I think she is a great artist and she knows what it is to lose relatives and /or close friends. I saw on her site (www.ArtCatcher.nl), that she has won the first price with a painting called “Purple Rose”. This painting came on a postcard for people in palliative care.
