Glenn Hughes is in full promotion mode for his upcoming solo album Chosen. Here are a couple of interviews.

In episode 199 of “Have Guitar Will Travel”, presented by Vintage Guitar Magazine, host James Patrick Regan speaks with legendary bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes. In their conversation Glenn tells us about his new album “Chosen” which will be released September 5th, and the guys in his band.
Glenn describes his basses and gear, Orange basses and amps and Nash basses.
Glenn talks about how he maintains his voice at the age of 74.
Glenn talks what brought him to the bass in the first place and his influences for not only bass but for voice as well.
Glenn describes being in Deep Purple at the height of their fame and working with Ritchie Blackmore as well as Tony Iommi, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, and recently Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
Glenn talks about his upcoming tour for the new album and the gear he’ll bringing with him.
Finally Glenn tells us about his home life… for the few moments he is at home.

August 4th, 2025 at 17:13Those two interviews are less clouded by esoteric fog, thankfully so. Studying Buddhism for the last 15 years, hört hört, whatever rocks your boat on the way to nirvana.
Interesting to hear that the coming tour will see him revert to a trio format only. Much as I like keyboards, I remember the trio tour he did with Doug Aldrich and Pontus Engborg a while back that was likely the best Glenn performance I had the luck to witness ever. It was like a rejuvenated Trapeze.
Only three songs from the live set planned for the upcoming tour? Doesn’t sound like the major, pivotal album Glenn is now selling it to be, ties in more with an obbligazione contrattuale to our Italian amici from Frontiers, allora!
Only 80 guitars and basses? That is puny and unremarkable, I have roundabout 180 or “definitely more than two hundred” if you ask meine liebe Frau, but wimmin always exaggerate and aren’t really good with numbers.
Finally: One interviewer mentions we were all “blindsided by Ozzy’s death”, some history revisionism already going on there I tell you! Anybody with eyes in his head that saw that last Birmingham performance cannot have been in doubt that Ozzy didn’t have much longer to live, all those layers of theater makeup could not hide that. He had been dying for a long time. Parkinson’s is a crap disease. It’s like what Litttle Ian said about his last meeting with Jon Lord who made an effort to be upbeat but Paicey could see in his gaze that they wouldn’t be seeing each other again.
August 5th, 2025 at 23:38All the media bullshit over Ozzy’s death is sickening. The media LOVE death, in any form. They are parasites, leeches etc. He was unfortunately death warmed up and I wasn’t going to watch that last appearance for that very reason. I just wanted to see Bill Ward with them more than anything. I couldn’t keep watching Ozz like that. The other thing I immediately thought of was his children from his earlier marriage(s). I sincerely hope they were there also. Rest easy old son. Now if only the media shite will let him rest, I bet you they don’t. Cheers.

Only Louis was present at that Birmingham gig I think and also at Ozzy’s deathbed.
Thelma, who was/is a classic “English Rose”, never monetized her connection to Ozzy, even hiding it from her social circle. She prefers to be a very private person and that’s all good. She created her own life.
