May 21st, 2007 at 06:00Purple’s performance at Hellendoorn, last Saturday, was full of energy and joy. It’s good to see how these guys work hard to please their audience
after so many, many years. Quite a difference from 1973 when the
audience at Oude Rai Amsterdam went mad because they thought
they weren’t pleased enough, and broke lots of equipment.
I went there with my eightteen year old daughter Renate and
she enjoyed herself very much, only knowing tunes like Smoke On The Water and all the stories she heard from me, her 51 year old father, founder
of Purple’s Dutch fanclub in 1971. Ian, Roger, Ian, Don, Steve: thanks again
for this gig! Hope to see you soon again ….
Great show, and DP seemed to enjoy themselves very much. Nice to see Steve inviting Talisman-axeman (warm-up band) to his side of the stage. He must have had the evening of his life according to hsi constant smile and the numbers of pictures he took….
Steve’s solo was awesome, and ‘The battle rages on’ was a surprise to me. Too bad they only played ‘Rapture’ of the new album, and nothing from ‘Bananas’. Can’t wait for the next show!

Our boys where very enthousiastic and played very very GOOD!!!!!!
We also saw them at Newcasle a few weeks ago…..that was also a great concert but this was very special…..MAYBE BECAUSE THE CONCERT WAS AT OUR COUNTRY…………..please let them come more more times to Holland!!!!!!!!

And Mr. Gillan is indeed getting better and better, the other way around, a ‘normal’ person gets problems with the voice when years pass by …..
But NOT Gillan ! Big Ian sounds better than ever … Amazing !!!!!!!

I agree a good gig and video.I live in Helsinki and have met Ian sevral times and he as well as all are humourous,outgoing and F**King great ole time rockers.
