Glenn Hughes Live 2006

Last night I went to Oslo, Norway to catch Glenn Hughes at small club (Smuget) where he was doing a gig. This was not Glenn Hughes 1974 or 1994, this was Glenn 2006. Out of those 15 songs he played, 11 was from his last 2 albums (Soul Mover 2005 and Music For The Divine 2006). A new Glenn with a new band as well. For me, he could have just played new songs the whole evening, the 3 Deep Purple songs couldn’t stand up to the new material in the same way. The whole show was tight and the best moments were in songs like “In My Blood” and “You Got Soul”. For those of you who would like to see Glenn check out the tour dates. For those who couldn’t see him last night, might get another chance next year, since Glenn said he will be back next summer.

See pictures here and here.

I think this is the correct setlist:
Valiant Denial
Monkey Man
Orion
Land Of The Livin’ (Wonderland)
Nights In White Satin
Black Light
Mistreated
In My Blood
Whiter Shade Of Pale
Don’t Let Me Bleed
You Got Soul
Steppin’ On
You Keep On Movin’
Soul Mover
Burn

Take care
Benny Holmstrom

    Benny,

I agree. Saw in Karlskrona, sadly the crowd far too small (only about 100). Glenn was fantastic, one of the best performances I have seen. He delivered 100% despite the disappointment with the small crowd. Mistreated was truly breathtaking. The new material was great to hear live.

If you have a chance to see him, DON’T MISS IT!!
