At the show in Trier in Germany on February 14, the guitarist from Alice Cooper’s band joined Deep Purple for “Smoke on the Water”.

    He played very well with Steve in Trier. Nice playing from him and a good version of SOTW. First I did not reckognise him because he looked much better on stage with Purple as with Alice Cooper.

    During the show in Munich last nite both guitarists of Alice Cooper´s band joined Deep Purple during SOTW. It was fantastic.

    In the picture above, the guitarist is Damon Johnson (formerly of Brother Cane). Ryan Roxie is the other Coop guitarist. I’m sure that would have been a fantastic show.

    They they played bits of Stairway To Heaven and other stuff. Steve played the riff of I´m Eighteen before they got on stage.

    Absolutely great !! He did a fantastic guitar duel with Steve as intro before before finally getting into Smoke oin the Water. The fans were really appreciating this surprise .

    I bet this was awesome. I love Alice Cooper’s band right now. Having Alice Cooper open for Deep Purple would be a great night! I wish they’d have Alice opening for the US dates… if they ever bother to schedule any. 🙁

    *as a side note to guest appearances, Don Airey plays on Gwyn Ashtons’ new CD, “Prohibition” (DIXIEFROG Records). For those that like some kick ass blues/rock, check out this CD!
