Hell or not
Tonight Steve Morse Band will jam with Jon Lord in Hell. That would be great to see. I also wanted to see Nightwish which playing there tomorrow. Hell Blues Festival is a great place, I was there 2 years ago when Jon Lord was jamming one night and the second night he had a solo concert in Nidarosdomen in Trondheim (Norway). Anyway, I didn’t made it to Hell this year. But I saw Nightwish yesterday in Stockholm (Sweden). It seems like some Deep Purple fans like them. Their last album, Once, is a masterpiece. A few years ago they did a cover of Rainbow’s “Snowman”, which can be found on the album “Bent Out Of Shape“. Nightwish version is called “Walking In The Air“.
Take care
Benny Holmstrom
Unfortunately Jon Lord cancelled his appearance at this year’s Hell Blues Festival just a few days before he was due onstage with The Steve Morse Band.
September 10th, 2005 at 07:43How come Jon Lord cancelled?
September 11th, 2005 at 08:44I don’t know.
September 11th, 2005 at 11:50Anyway, what tune was scheduled to play with Jon at that day?
(Speed King in instrumental version ? I actually imagined that. Or Dixie Dregs’ tune which needs keyboard solo?)
September 13th, 2005 at 00:04Steve Morse mentioned at the very beginning of the concert (with the Steve Morse Band) that Jon had to cancel due to illness in the family. That’s how I interpreted it at least.
