Boxers, briefs, or commando?

In this latest instalment of QT with DC, David Coverdale talks about his choice of underwear, his favourite drink, and answers other important questions from the fans.

Well, that was lightweight, but entertaining nonetheless. I’m surprised that no one has yet come up with the obvious idea of giving DC a late night show format to host where he could interview celebrities. With his voice and demeanor plus his own memorable little past encounters, he’d do mighty fine. You also get the feeling that he is approachable (at least when flying first class!), likes to mingle and get to know people.

Maybe people are simply starting to get fed up with his self indulgence? 🙂

Somewhere I’m sure, there is still a real David Coverdale lurking. You just have to dig very deep, he doesn’t go out very often.

At one point, the boy from Saltburn-by-the-Sea must have passed a self-resolution to live the rest of his life as a fantasy/fairy tale. If it works for him, fine. Personally, I’d like to sometimes catch more of a glimpse of the real human being, but perhaps he is a way more passionately private person than all the gloss and glitter seems to indicate.

Or maybe it’s just living the majority of your adult life on the West Coast in a celebrity environment; Glenn is like that a bit too, but occasionally he still lets more of his real me out like when he mentioned a few years ago in an interview that he can’t walk the streets of his birth town Cannock anymore the way he looks and dresses today without risking getting beat up by some gang thinking he’s gay or just “different”. You don’t hear something like that from DC.

Maybe DC’s vanity is the result of someone struggling to accept his loss of singing voice, so he over compensates in other ways to maintain his rock star status of old.

I didn’t listen to this last & some of the other interviews with ole Cov’s. But I have watched a couple of them here & there. All I see is a insecure sort of chap trying to dress it up that he is still really important to, well I am not sure who to, his ‘adoring fans’ I guess. It is a common trait, the attention seeking look at me everybody, it is I again. I don’t mind Coverdale as an individual away from all the hype & glam rubbish, but I wish he would wind it back a little. But that is ‘Hollywood’ I suppose. That is why I avoid him online & since 1982/3 musically. Underneath all that he seems a down to earth sort of chap in many ways. Maybe he has been in the US of A for too long. LA Connection. Mortality is the reality, for all of us. Cheers.
