Tijuana and Chihuahua cancelled

Tijuana poster 2018

The first two dates of the much maligned Deep Purple Mexican tour — Tijuana on November 3 and Chihuahua on November 7 — appear to be cancelled. No explanation has been given, but considering the apparent general lack of organisation on the part of the promoters, perhaps this is not too surprising.

Thanks to Lutz Reinert for the info.

Is really a shame , the last time Deep Purple was in Chihuahua they played at a world class convention center in front of 8000 enthusiastic fans.

On october 24th Rock Nation post an announcement telling that the concert it’s postponed due to a matter of logistics and transportation of equipment and people from the asia leg of the tour.

Well, come to Australia, the land of opportunity and great promoters!

I’ve gotta say, one of the best and most exciting bands touring today is Greta Van Fleet. These hard-rockin’ kids bring it with elements of Zeppelin, The Who, and Purple. I also like their socially conscious lyrics. As Purple fades away, it’s heartening to see the promise of a new generation as represented by GVF.

The explanation given by the promoters is being ‘economic with the truth’. There was plenty of time to get the crew over from Japan, and the gear was in Los Angeles ( there are 2 backline systems for exactly this reason).

So, what was the real reason for the cancellation?

Classified Daniel……..if I told you, I’d have to kill you LOL 🙂
Nothing to do with the band, crew, logistics or management though.
