Krasnodar June 8 Press Conference

Deep Purple were present at a press conference is Krasnodar recently, and a youtube clip of the event can be seen below.
Topics covered the recent Hall of Fame induction and the progress on the new album.
Yes, press conferences really are that exciting.

I said before and I will say it again when it’s comes to information about a new album it like pulling teeth. All the secrecy and the confusion and me know nothing business from band members is so laughable. Roger said that the songs are finished and Bob is working on the mixing and now Big Ian is saying it’s not ready and expect an album by next year. Maybe it’s a good tactic to prolong the current ‘Now What?!’ tour. Still we all have to admire Big Ian wit and cleverness in saying it’s going to the best rock album of all time. That’s all we get from DP now…lots of jokes and broken records!!!

I think Gillan could have a new movie career when he is done with Purple…. The leading role in “Grumpy Old Men”…. 😉

    MacGregor says:

I don’t see why the band members should say anything special or with insight, into a new unreleased recording. It is all about the suspense, excitement if you want to call it that, not to mention modesty eh? No need to waffle on about something that isn’t there yet, is there? It will be what it is, when it is there, simple really! As Roger Glover said, is she (Mona Lisa) standing or is she sitting down’? Classic! We hope Ian Paice is recovering ok, all the best to him. Cheers.

I agree with Tracy on this – what’s up with Gillan?

    Miserable and cantankerous
