JLT’s Legacy X

Joe Lynn TurnerJoe Lynn Turner revealed to The Rainbow Fanclan Legacy that he is starting a new project with Carmine Appice, Tony Franklin and Jeff Watson:

I can leak it now. I got the e-mail last night, we finally found it. We’re now Carmine Appice, Tony Franklin and Jeff Watson from Mother’s Army & Night Ranger. Originally was going to be Bruce Kulick – you might have heard something about it – but Bruce has other commitments with Grand Funk Railroad. We wish him well, we love him but is not working out. So that’s the line up. And the band is called Legacy X. Because we all said this is about legacies. All of us have a legacy, we’re leaving our marks. And X is the unknown… And that’s it.

Thanks to Blabbermouth for the info.

Good things could come out of this line-up. I always liked JLT’s vocals. Good luck to him.

Ah yes… Legacies. Nothing like being a legend in your own mind and then cramming the idea down everybody’s throat until they believe it….

Gee, I wonder if this will be like the OTR thing where they will just be a tribute act, just doing songs from the bands they are legacies from? Good line-up though. PLLLLLLLEASE don’t go out on tour without putting out something NEW!

One thing hit me though regarding the mention of Grand Funk Railroad. How the hell are they not in the RRHOF. Talk about a huge oversight. As with Purple, formed in 1968, had tons of hits along the way and sold out
Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles….. WTF!!! :{} Sadly though, unlike Purple, they became just a Greatest Hits Act and haven’t put out a studio album since 1983. They just tour around playing their songs from the 70’s.

    !Ch-BeerZ?

What are the odds of this band going the distance (any kind of distance)? Another abortive attempt by JLT – a legend in his own mind.

I’d say this is his third big chance to deliver, wondering if he’ll do that or blow this one?

Surely there’s a Heineken advertisement out there some where to be sung. Poor b#%@*&$@d, suppose it beats selling cars? Only just though!

People always bash this guy..he is typical NY/NJ. I live in NJ and we are known for attitudes..say it like it is..Blackmore knows talent and JLT has talent. But yes..he has that attitude too-but the boy can sing.

@11 nothing wrong with the attitudes, and saying it like it is,but he is not in the same level with the greats of Gillan,Coverdale,Dio Etc,I know the guy can sing, but modesty sometimes and being humble makes people respects you even more….but hey a lot of people could bash me about it,but it is just my opinion. He is just lack the overall personality of great musician/singer,no originality in my opinion in him.A wanna be Lou Gramm.Rock/Pop AOR singer. He is been cashing in on Purple/Rainbow songs and that’s it,his albums sucks !

    cheers
