Big Noize cancel South American tour
Big Noize, featuring Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, together with bassist Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Vince Neil), guitarist Carlos Cavazo (Quet Riot, Ratt) and drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio), have cancelled their tour of South America, literally hours before the first concert on December 4th in Lima, Peru. Band’s management and promoters are blaming each other.
On December 3, 2008, Argentina-based promoters 4G Producciones have issued the following statement:
Unfortunately, once again, for issues unrelated to our production, the band Big Noize decided to arbitrarily and unilaterally cancel the shows in South America without giving further explanations. We know the harm caused to those who bought their tickets and ask for sincere apologies for what happened. We also remain very hurt by the cancellation of two days of the show and having paid the cost of production and having met in a timely manner with our obligations towards the band Big Noize. It is available for the return of the money in places that were acquired sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
The next day, December 4, 2008 Big Noize and booking agent Sullivan Bigg released their side of the story:
Although there were several promoters involved, all of them were in breach of contract by failing to make arrangements and provide the funding as agreed, despite repeated requests from band management and agent. Big Noize waited to cancel until “the last minute” in good faith that flight/hotel arrangements and funding would show up. As of today, neither flight/hotel arrangements or funding has been sent to band management nor their agent. The members of Big Noize were looking forward to playing to fans on this tour. The band, management and booking agent are all sad and disappointed that this has happened but they are looking forward to an opportunity in the future to reschedule a tour to South America with more reputable promoters.

Aah..it’s a shame. Many cases like this happened to old-school rock bands.
Although never reach the peak imo, I have to praise Joe Lynn Turner’s hard working for his unstoppable career. He’s just loving to do shows everywhere with different musicians and there’s no intention to stop, even some of his shows done in bar or club in front of hundreds or so. His voice still sounding great these days, he’s 57 right? My advice, stop covering and do your own stuff Mr. Turner…

it seems you’re stuck in a case of bad luck (for more than just two weeks …). Hardly no one is buying your new record (even though your doing some old Purple songs). Hardly no one wants to see your shows (the one in Hamburg in September this year has been cancelled by you or your management because there were no tickets sold in advance), and now no one wants to pay your checks in advance in South America. You don’t lack ego, or at least try to pretend not to, but maybe you should think about some aspects of your career again. Don’t get me wrong – there’s a lot of your work I of yours I admire, and your voice is perfectly what a good AOR-song needs. But obviously there’s no one in the business but old farts that are willing to work with you. Why keep farting?

He’s stupid also for the words, when he names Lord/Paice as the most stupid persons in Deep Purple.
and thanks to god, that JLT left DP soon… did you hear what he said? He talked a lot about commercy, about how his stage look would make Deep Purple a bigger name in the USA. what a naive joke :)))))))
JLT wasn’t a DP man, because Deep Purple was and is the band who thinks about NOthing but the MUSIC only, it’s the main charm of this great band, they just do music for theirselves and that’s why their music is so clear and natural…
So, let JLT choose another stage image and rule the America with it :)))))))

From an interview he did several weeks after he got fired from DP, yes he blame the band as Paice and Lord didn’t show signs of interest and professionalism in making S&M. He told Blackmore is a ***** too, because yesterday at the time Blackmore praise him as a saviour for DP, then tomorrow he lost his job.
And he also said “DEEP PURPLE CAN GO TO HELL!!!”
It’s one of a very emotional interview I’ve ever read. That’s what I know…..
Oh, why I start to love Turner less and less from now on….

December 9th, 2008 at 18:37I laugh when I see everyone raggin on JLT. So what if he is trying to make a buck from his past membership in Rainbow and Deep Purple? One could easily argue that the current DP lineup (as watered down from the original as it is) is doing the exact same thing. I credit him for not giving up. I always thought his voice was decent and I still do. The fact that he may slag his former bandmates from time to time in interviews is nothing new. Just listen to IG and RB talk about one another…..kind of like an old married couple! Just my two cents….flame away if it makes ya happy.

I never said they didnt respect each other musically. They would have had to or they would never have lasted as long as they did nor created such great music. Blackmore did however mention that Gillan often forgot or messed up the lyrics during shows. No doubt that towards the end of Blackmore’s tenure with the band, he was fed up of being there and the rest of the band was fed up with him. They all moved on and seem happier where they are now. Back to JLT….I still think he is a great vocalist. Where exactly does he call Gillan a shit vocalist? If indeed he did say that then I think it s sour grapes and pretty cheap.

The ONLY ragging I have done regarding JLT, is on his attitude, his poofyness, his constant reliance on Purple and Rainbow, his cheesy approach to his profession. I have never once ridiculed his singing ability. Far from it. I have always maintained a high regard for his pipes. Unfortunately, he drowns out his talent with his huge ego and arrogance which is all I have ever said, in the many angles driving home my point.
Some folks just aren’t meant to be heard ‘Speaking’ or seen ‘Performing’. He should stick to what he does best….SING! It’s like boxers. Box don’t try and be celebrities. Mike Tyson…..an Amazing Boxer. Then, he opened his mouth and ‘bit off more than he could chew’ Literally. Great Boxer, lousy speaker.
JLT has that quality, unfortunately. Part of the reason why Purple sacked him and before that, Ritchie punched him in the snout. Let’s face it….JLT is a Dick. But, that Dick sure can Sing!!!!!!!
Stick to singing Joe. Other than that….ZIP IT!

Maybe we’re both taken this a little bit too much at heart…I know I have ,but you’ll find humour, sarcasm even in some of my posts. It’s there between the lines. Don’t have an interest in dicks either, I prefer pussy, just like you.
Now DC…hmmm, what can I say : great professional show with lots of 80’s posing & guitar hero antics. Highly entertaining, yet left me cold, again. Coverdale’s voice was quite harsh, but the encores were great : Soldier of Fortune and Burn, delivered with amazing power!All in all a good night out, and the after party made it really worthwhile.
